Oh no, I still have that dvd box set above. All my anime dvd sets stay put up. Nostalgia, baby!
I have the dvds but sadly that chip box that holds the dvds has gone the way of the dodoo. Good stuff thou!
All I need is a Blu-ray Ultra CE of this and I’m good:
There’s a 30th anniversary box set that came out last year in Japan, but:
-
I just found out about it, like, literally after replying to your last message lmao
-
I’m not paying damn near $500 to have it. I won’t lie, I’d have strongly considered pulling the trigger if it included the English dub. I’m good with my DVD complete collection for now.
That shit is tasty. Ronin Warriors was one of my gateway anime’s
It isn’t a fantasy sequence, it’s just a somewhat oddball story at times lol
It was my alarm clock back in junior high school. I jumped on both the complete collection and Gundam Wing box set as soon as I saw them at Best Buy years and years ago.
My first anime was Speed Racer, fucking HATED it. And it wasn’t the dubbing, just could not get into it😂
Robin was baller tho, wasn’t aware it was anime back then
My gate way anime’s/anime’s I grew up with before I realized they were animes were
- Original B/W Astro Boy
- Kimba the White Lion
- Sailor Moon
- Speed Racer
- Ronin Warriors
- Card Captor
- Voltron
- Battle of the Planets/G-Force
When I was really little dad was stationed in Japan for a few months and knew a video editor who was fluent in Japanese. Mailed me a box of VHS’s of all the episodes of Astro Boy and Kimba subbed.
Indecently the same box also had a bunch of New Japan Pro Wrestling matches in it because my dad heard I had been watching wrestling my cousins a lot so He figured I’d like watching them. They weren’t subbed though. They’re the matches and cards that got me hooked on wrestling.
As I got older I watched a lot of cyberpunk shit like bubble gum crisis and Apple seed
First ever was an old vhs of Guyver. First real intro into anime was bleach followed by chobits. Lool
Chobits was too good. So wholesome and pure until you had to delve into the dark past of Chi. I think mines was of course DB and maybe a VHS of lsayers a friend let me borrow back in the day. Funny enough i’m going thru old cd’s of anime i downloaded back in the day from IRC. Found Macross 7, Steel Angel Kurumi, Gungrave, V Gundam and Final Fantasy Unlimited.
I got tons of binders and cd spindles of anime that i’m planning to copy over and put on a external for future quarantine scenarios.
I remember trying one piece 2 or 3 times being put off by the art and now its obviously near the top of the list.
GTO is the only series I watched 3x!! And i rarely rewatch anything. SF2 the animated movie must have seen it two dozen times at least.
GTO was too good. Alot of the stuff in it wouldn’t fly now but both seasons and the live action were too good.
GTO needs to be remastered and out in Blu-ray stat!
The first anime or one of them I think may not count, but it was an animated adaptation of Ultraman my Uncle rented for me and my cousins when I was staying at their place. I looked it up recently and I am not sure if this was anime or just Western animation.
But besides that it has to be either G Force or Voltron but I remember not liking both of them at the time.
I remember this being part of an anime block which included Sailor Moon. My cousins kept saying Sailor Moon was better but I swore up and down that Ronin Warriors was superior…
Guess he likes it full of dik then
Sometimes you want some coffee with a side of dicks, okay?
There was a bunch of stuff they didnt include from the manga. They should also do all the prequels and sequels
