Just go TV Series > End of Eva > Rebuild Movies
End of Eva rewrites/retells the last two episode of the TV series.
Then rebuild retells the whole damn thing again but starts branching out after the 1st movie.
Netflix version of TV series is serviceable but not ideal. Find an alternative if you can, but no biggie if you’re not bothered.
List of reasons why:
Main ones being they cheaped out and decided to forego rights on the ED song - Fly me to the moon, which got used as BGM for certain scenes outside of the ED Theme too. And for whatever reason (prob cost cutting again) instead of reusing the existing script, they decided to reinvent the wheel and translate their own new script adding on even more inconsistencies.

I read a good bit of this yesterday. This shit is actually what people think shield hero and goblin slayer is! So yeah there’s gonna be a shitstorm and I can’t wait to watch.

im loving the manly brutal fighting animes like baki the grappler and now kengan ashura. is anyone watching kengan ashura??? its like cell shaded mortal kombat with fatalities and brutalities and xray attacks.
i prefered part 1 because the beatings were more brutal and there were more fatalities iirc

Kengan Asura is awesome from start to finish. Currently reading the second part which is Kengan Omega. Can’t wait for the first part to finish. While the Netflix adaptation skips some stuff it’s still damn near perfect imo. I can’t complain at all.
yeah on youtube i’ve already spoiled myself by “watching” the manga videos and seeing what happens. i’m gonna try to avoid because i am enjoying talking predictions with my friends. i do not think ohma is going to win, despite being the protagonist. there are too many monsters and he barely beat the demon guy, and he struggled against the long haired guy whose based on the long haired children from the ring and the grudge movies. he will probably get stomped badly at some point not sure by who
that demon form transformation ohma has is so sick. like i haven’t gotten chills from that kind of transform since gohan hit super saiyan 2.
the anime is even better when smoking weed, since it makes it more epic, and the battles usually go back and forth so its not clear who will win. like i thought the black mercenary was a goner after he got eye gouged by the bleeding eyes zombie character. the way the merc turned it around and went mortal kombat brutality on him was siiiiiiick

Fly Me to the Moon had like a new vocalist every episode, right? People can blame cost cutting but honestly something like that for a 20 year old anime is probably a completely nightmarish copyright issue. The amount of hoops you’d have to likely jump through to get every version in each episode was probably just not worth the effort. This wouldn’t be the first time localizations have had issues with having to cut content because of rights holders.

It was mostly the various cast singing it for the ED. Megumi had like 6 or 7 versions alone
There’s still a likely chance that there’s a lot of legal hoops Netflix would have to jump through to get the original ED for each episode. Copyright laws are a hassle. lol

Probably also have to pay those VAs for the use of the songs to, so more then just licensing fees. Like how Mark Hammel makes money on every Luke Skywalker figure that sells.
That is part of the problem fan subs aren’t always the height of accuracy.

Are fan subs still a thing? Most people just takes the subs provided by Crunchyroll or Funimation.

Rin’s nata will have her face carved into both the blade and the accompanying leather case. The case will show her wearing her knitted cap, and the blade will show her with her hair visible. The product will be crafted using wood from bamboo-leaf oak by local smiths from Sanjō city in the Niigata prefecture.
The nata will cost 17,050 yen (US$157). Online orders will open on November 26.
