The fact that the SSY manga is pretty much softcore yuri porn makes me not want to read it at all. Seems like they took a world that’s really interesting and changed it into yuri garbage.

[details=Spoiler] I think its implied that yakomaru killed Mamoru and Maria too. But what I’m wondering is why they decided to have a child at all. I’ve been thinking that Yakomaru drugged them or something and made them have sex. Once Maria was knocked up he probably killed Mamoru and then much like the Monster Rat queen he had Maria drugged up for 9 months until birth and then killed her too. Sounds reallly fucked up but thats what I’ve been thinking ever since Mamoru and Maria were confirmed dead.[/details] Anyone know if they explain what happend during all that time in the novels?

You really think two fourteen year old kids living ALONE in THE WILD aren’t going to have sex a lot? What else are they going to do? It’s not like they can play their Wii-U or some shit. 
I doubt their child was intentional, but it’s bound to happen eventually with kids that young fucking all the time. Squealer was smart enough to realize that Maria would get knocked up eventually and was probably just waiting for it to happen before making his move.

Remember the whole thing about them applying principles of bonobo society to people? Remember how shun and saki almost got it in in captivity randomly? How everybody was pairing up at 12-14 years old? No, they don’t outright say “the kids come from a society in which they’re basically encouraged to have sex in order to satiate themselves and keep them from worrying about all the fucked up stuff in the world,” but it’s easy to put 2 and 2 togther. There’s, like, nothing in the series that matters that isn’t foreshadowed to some degree.

Not to mention they confirm Saki and Maria were already sexually active together before Maria left. You combine the principles of bonobo, two fourteen year old walking bags of hormones (one being a boy), and being alone in the wild with nothing to do, you bet your ass Mamoru and Maria were bumping uglies a lot.
Unrelatedly, watching the live action Beck movie now. it’s pretty good, all things considered (the english speakers’ acting is questionable, but at least they speak english and not…whatever that was in the anime. They also say “fuck” a lot. Also Maho is not hot enough) but man, the thing they do with Koyuki is the biggest copout ever.
Claymore anime is actually pretty damn good.
Love the story so far especially with the twist @ episode 19.
Great characters, although they sort-of look alike. The fact that the claymores don’t like other claymores, humans, or Demons really add to it.
