Anime & Manga Thread v.5 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Welcome to 2017

lol people finished oreimo.

LOL

I was on episode 5 but now ill stop watching.

Any similar animes with a ending that isn’t garbage?

[details=Spoiler]That was heartbreaking. I never really cared for Chihiro during her arc, but Goddess arc Chihiro is something else entirely. It’s ironic that the most realistic girl in the show is the only one to actually fall for him of her own accord.

I’m glad they adapted it so well. This was pretty much the highlight of the manga. I haven’t really enjoyed it much since.[/details]

Yosuga no Sora

yea TWGOK, that episode was on point. im loving this show right about now.

oh wow, i forgot about Yosuga no Sora, that is pretty similar to Oreimo, although it takes it to the next level, lmao. but Oreimo has better characters.

Watched the Index movie and it was standard movie fare but overall I enjoyed it. The animation is gorgeous during high action sequences and the involvement of certain characters in past story arcs were cool but most character cameos were forced. There were a few elements that felt off to me, such as the mediocre storyline, main villain lacked substance, new characters lacked development, and ending felt incomplete/rushed.

I can let go issues 1-3, as you kind of expect that to happen with these type of movies but the lack of a proper conclusion bothers me. Another 10-15 minutes at the end would have helped, imo.

Ill check it out but I hope it has developed characters like the other 2…I’d just hate senseless fan service.

oh dont get it twisted, Yosuga no Sora is fucking terrible. but it does a good job of taking the incest shit to another level.

Damn…guess ill be skipping that too:(

lmao, I got someone to watch 5 episodes of OreImo by comparing it with WataMote.

Should check out Sasami-San@Ganbaranai next. Another otaku based show like the other two and no incest. I swear!

Fool me once shame on you…fool me 3-5 times shame on SRK.

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai’s incestual undertones make sense within the context of the story (and isn’t the focus on the show at all anyways). Show was silly and fun to watch, either way. I enjoyed it.

On a serious note Sasami-san@Ganbaranai was more of a bizarre, wacky, I-do-whatever-the-hell-I-want comedy type show than incest pandering anyway. Like Juice mentions, incest really isn’t the main drawing point of the show and sometimes I wonder if it’s even in there just to take the piss out of it lol If you watch the first episode, you know exactly what the hell you’re in for.

I’ll check it out, been enjoying these messed up comedies since it seems the season is winding down.

Haven’t been keeping up a lot but what is there to look forward to this fall?

Looks like for me:

  • Kill La Kill
  • Kyoukai no Kanata
  • Kuroko 2
  • BB AM

Pupa and Samurai Flamenco seem interesting, but it’s probably one of those coin flip shows that has an equal chance of it sucking as it does being good lol

Thanks man I’m gonna look through them all and see what the buzz is around them.

Right now pupa caught my eye but some of them could be sleeper hits.

Kenichi OVA

Pupa is probably going to be my main.

IS Season 2 for the faps.

Captain Harlock because 3D animation.

Don’t know wtf I’m watching off that list, other than valvare. Will prob just wait and see what people are talking about a month in. I don’t see any good comedies on there. :frowning:

Next season I’m watching:

Kill La Kill
Non Non Biyori
Magi season 2
Hajime no Ippo Rising
Blazblue

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai will be my main. Fanservice and wrestling. This is a gift from the anime gods

I don’t know how I didn’t notice the blazeblue anime…

So anyone got any "good"anime similar to watamote?
