This episode was fucked up in more ways then one. How long as the sybil system been around for people to not see the obvious signs of danger around them? That scene with the guy beating that woman to death on the busy street with no one lifting a finger was disgusting. It all screwy when I happen to agree with guy that set the wheels into motion. Yeah, that’s perfectly acceptable, except that it felt like Major was trying to do one thing, only to be aiming for something completely different and not as interesting. I probably forgot a lot since the wait between IX and X, but it just keeps coming off as some lackluster ending that past OVA have built up on for me.
Man, Psycho Pass is on some next level shit. I haven’t watched an anime this brutal in a long time. (Another was more hilarious than brutal)

Another is fun to watch if you got friends over. I got 2 friends to watch it together and they guessed right on the people who were going to die 2 seconds after they appear on screen for the first time… This was only up til ep 3 though.

Hanemura meets up with Evangeline and Natsumura and displays his powers, even destroying a part of the Tree of Genesis right before the pair’s eyes. Later, Hanemura meets Mahiro who ends up interrogating him about the incident regarding Aika’s death, one year ago. Hanemura says he can’t have done it because he was with someone (his ex-girlfriend at the time) but Mahiro thinks otherwise and says that he’ll get some answers one way or another. Mahiro ends up ‘sparring’ with Hanemura to assess his magical ability, though Hanemura has a natural affinity to using the power of the Tree of Exodus, he doesn’t possess the instinct of a killer. Though the sparring eventually becomes a practice session to get Hanemura to hone his abilities, Mahiro tries to provoke Hanemura with some success. However, Hanemura gets one over on Mahiro, saying that he has a bit of a ‘sister complex’ in regards to Aika, even going as far as saying that he was in love with her (something that the other members of Samon’s group acknowledge though don’t really say themselves). Mahiro takes some offense to the statement and punishes Hanemura with a kick to his face.
Elsewhere, Hakaze and Yoshino are at an amusement park and the duo reflects on the changes in the world and how it has affected society as of late. Junichirou makes a sudden appearance and has Yoshino go on an errand so that he can talk to Hakaze alone about how she has fallen in love with Yoshino. Hakaze does her best to deny it but the princess is quite taken/smitten with Yoshino, even stating things that she likes about him in some girly moments. Junichirou tells Hakaze that she shouldn’t fall in love with Yoshino for what would seem like obvious reason/deterent (the mysterious girlfriend), but instead with the more realistic/logistical reason: the Tree of Genesis could grant/fulfill Hakaze’s request/desire to be with Yoshino at the expense of his girlfriend’s life.
It seems Hayakawa and Samon have something in the works regarding Hanemura and Samon thinks that Yoshino might still be the Mage of Exodus, though Hanemura has the ability but not the mindset. Apparently, the Mage of Exodus is scheduled to make a public appearance sometime soon, which for some reason excites Evangeline and has Hanemura worried.

After Kona somewhat recovers from her ordeal, she tells Kai that the robot uprising in Tokyo is not her doing, rather it is the cause of a hacker who had managed to take control of them via a company website of a leading robot manufacturer - with a surprise of a server redirect involving the Kill Ballad game. Kai offers his help to a distraught Kona to beat the AI opponent in order to stop the robots. In Tokyo, Misa and her boss talk about a ‘Project: Mars’, a scenario which foretold of robots rebelling, as well as the circumstances regarding the staff of the Gunvarrel anime and the last episode, and a bit about Kou Kimijima.
Kai tries his best but the AI opponent gets the better of him due to ‘comeback factors’ in it’s favor. Kai even goes as far as trying to force his slo-mo syndrome for some help but is unable to activate it, though the processes provides Kona with some ‘entertainment’. On a tip from Airi’s alter ego, Kona looks within to the Kill Ballad dev group, which leads to one member, named Maguyan, who is responsible for the robot hacking. During the convo, Maguyan explains the circumstances to why things happened, however, Kona and Kai seem to think otherwise as Maguyan’s behavior seems to be a bit erratic. Though Kona feels down about how things have happened, Kai reassures her that she isn’t alone and that she has the support of her friends: the Robotics Club. Kona goes on to explain that she made Kill Ballad in order to preserve the memory of the Gunvarrel anime her mother created in some other form - a legacy started by the mother and continued by the daughter.
The police soon arrive at Kona place to question her about the incident, as well as the other Robotics Club members, who have come to help their friend. With some quick thinking, Aki and Junna direct the attention away from Kona by getting the police to check out the appearance of a mysterious person nearby - Mister Pleiades (Subaru). Realizing that they have only one more chance to stop the robots, Kai battles the AI opponent once more and as he manages to whittle down the opponent’s life bar, which causes it to retaliate via a comeback, Kai manages to get the slo-mo syndrome to activate, allowing him to react/dodge the comeback attack and beat the opponent for the win. Kona then issues a shutdown command that stops the robots, which are in the process of breaching a government building.
A week has passed since the blackout event and things are slowly returning to normal in the afflicted areas. Kona has decided to attend school, though only for the Robotics Club and Kai, whom she has gotten close to, much to the surprise of Aki who wants to know what is going on between the two of them.

Akane makes an entrance at her new school grounds in her powered suit form and surprises a kendo practitioner named Wakaba not only with her strange appearance but also by defending a sword attack with a blade grasp. After being reprimanded by the female military officlal (who’s also her new homeroom teacher), Akane and Aoi meet their new homeroom class, which includes Wakaba, a girl named Himawari (who isn’t physically present, proxy by robot), and apparently the mysterious black-haired girl. Akane recognizes Wakaba from earlier and tries to avoid her but Wakaba confronts her during lunch about the earlier incident, which results in a chase through the school grounds. Akane manages to elude Wakaba but at the expense of Momo who suffers a minor injury due to the chase. Momo speaks on Akane’s behalf to Wakaba who wants to challenge Akane to a duel.
The next day, Akane receives a challenge letter from Wakaba for a duel after school. At a beach-side location, Wakaba and Akane engage in a kendo match (Aoi and Momo are watching the duel nearby) and Akane surprises Wakaba with her unorthodox ability which allows her to be able to keep up with the experienced kendo practitioner. The fight ends up being enjoyable for both parties, especially Wakaba who has missed the particular fight feeling from when she first practiced kendo.
An Alone suddenly appears offshore, which prompts Akane and Aoi to transform and fight the entity while Wakaba is asked by Akane to look after Momo. The Alone attacks wildly, firing some lasers at the beach, prompting Wakaba to save Momo from harm. Akane goes back to check in on them and Wakaba asks to join the fight, with Kenjirou making a surprise appearance and approving of Wakaba’s decision. Wakaba receives a key and transforms into a powered suit form, then flies off with Akane to battle the Alone. Somewhere, the mysterious black-haired girl fires an arrow into the Alone, causing it to change it’s form. Kenjirou tells Akane and Wakabe to ‘dock’ and after another transformation sequence, the Vividgreen form makes short work of the Alone with a stunning sword slash.
After the Alone is defeated, the mysterious girl disappears. Back on the beach, as Wakaba is welcomed into the group by Akane and the others, Himawari (via robot proxy) looks on from afar.
Kotoura was better than I expected, gonna keep with it.

The one where the narrator (whom we now know is almost certainly Saki) said that if Maria had never been born, many could have been spared. apparently a new genshiken animes been announced following the god awful second half of the series that no one cares about. One of the few manga/anime that I was sad to see continue, as i thought it “ended” fairly well. But the MANGAKA needed rent money I guess and decided to continue it with new boring character tropes. Shameful.
