Gyo is a great movie. Short and to the point, no pointless filler. It’s a great adaption of the manga, really shows Junji Ito’s twisted sense of humor and just overall bizarre storytelling. I recommend it to everyone, anime and manga, though yeah, the manga is better.

[details=Spoiler]Shame the best character had to die, but I suppose he had it coming, he was starting to be a lame human, as his lame human pet was starting to rub off on him. I really would have liked an ending where Leto died and Chamber ruled the world. Also, more robots need a bitch mode detector that kicks the pilots out when they start getting all emo. Evangelion would have been like, a 40 minute OVA if they had those.
Fridge logic: What was up with the rocket lobster crew being all buddy buddy with gargantia at the end? Like, that’s pretty big of them, letting bygones be bygones with that whole, trying to rob and kill them thing. Clearly, the group of pirates who betrayed the cult that took them in and then allied with the money hungry deserters is very trust worthy. [/details]

I noticed a ton of mistakes animation-wise that just left me confused. Was even wondering if my player was bugging out. No idea how they got away with this tbh

Aside from the shortcuts they’ve taken in a few eps and the shitty pacing in the previous couple of eps, I’m enjoying SnK so far though. I don’t really watch anime at all anymore, but one thing I hated when I did was watching an anime while it was airing. A week is way too long for a 20 minute watch. Gonna be tough, but I wont be watching anymore of it till it’s finished airing whenever that is

The animation studio for SnK is behind schedule, which is why we’re seeing a drop in animation quality and pacing issues. This is also why we’re getting a recap episode this week. I’m not too surprised it’s resorted to this because the animation quality with the 3D gear is almost movie quality animation and I can’t imagine that the typical staff of an animation studio could animate those scenes quickly enough.
