Anime & Manga Thread v.5 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Welcome to 2017

This weeks Gargantia made me want to drop it. Shit that should have been glossed over in less than five minutes was stretched into a whole episode. Two-thirds of the way in and the show pull this shit when they hardly done jack shit since episode 3. Fuck this shows horrible pacing.

The novelty of the dramatics in the Jojo’s anime wore off after the first episode. Couldn’t take anymore yelling out the obvious (padding out the episodes with stills while talking for long periods of time) to the point where I contemplated leaving just the audio on to see if could still tell what was going on. That along with of all the stills that looked copy pasted from the manga makes it pretty obvious the show was made with a paper thin budget. Rather read the manga. The anime can go fuck off.

Lol you and your shit taste.

Then don’t quote it please

Fixed it. Sorry guys.

 • Aku No Hana 8: The Walk of Shame

[details=Spoiler] This is the first time since episode 1 that we don’t see Kasuga walking either to or from school alone. It’s quite a different feeling seeing them heading home while everyone is ready to spring awake ready to start their day. In all the times we’ve seen the commute there has always been other people frolicking with their cohorts while Kasuga walked alone. The lengthy walk scene could have been cut down by a couple of minutes even though I personally liked it. It spent half the episode pretty much time reveling in afterglow.

I wonder if the weather forecast on tv is foreshadowing that the punishment for what he and Naka did won’t be that bad. Thank god they cut the 2nd walking scene short, it still got the idea of him being almost crippled by dread without having to take up 5+ minutes of time. Nothing much really happened this episode sans the ending. The ep felt like a big comedown ep before things ratchet up for the final 4 episodes. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but because of the brevarity of this series is and because I’m pretty doubtful it’ll get greenlit for a 2nd season it left me underwhelmed.

Hopefully the series has a strong ending that doesn’t falters. I’ll definitely be checking out the manga after this is done

Garguntua is filler this week? Nice, no need to watch it!

^Not filler. Should probably watch it anyways for the bit of character development. Was a decent episode, IMO. Kenuran is teh dumb.

Gotta love Ridget with her hair down <3

Sorry all I see is boobs.

what is that from?

EDIT:
Woot, New Saki episode out.

It’s some Suisei no Gargantia.

Bellows doe

Kittan, I accept your last wish!

I have no idea how anyone would consider this weeks Gargantia a filler episode. There was a mix of world building, character development, and actual plot movement. I would probably consider this episode as the episode that set the plot in motion instead of the world building and character development episodes we’ve gotten up to this point.

Not an ass guy I see.

Just finished Gurren Lagann…

Mine is the drill…

Never had I ever paused an episode so many times to read subs, look at a still shot and look up stuff on a wiki to pick up on everything they said. Was worth it though. It’s not entirely braindead BS. fucking dora tiles threw me off because I’ve never play with those… nor Japanese-style mahjong for that matter.

Nah. Asses are nice, but boobs are the way to go for me. I do like sum posterior cleavage Bellows has going in in that pic tho.

Yeah, I wish they showed their hands a little bit longer. It’s hard to tell how awesome/bad their hands are since they briefly show them. I really like Japanese mahjong because the Dora adds an interesting element to strategies.

That being said, Saki is beyond ridiculous in Mahjong strategies. I thought Akagi exaggerated things with Mahjong but Saki takes things to a different level. I’m not even sure if I should get hype or just laugh.

Titan is actually a giant robot robot show without the robots.
Like, the smaller ones are the mook robots that die easily, bigger ones are the fancy, effeminate hero robots.
Can’t wait for ace pilot Miskasa to get her own girly robot with big flowing ribbons and some kind of large, glowing sword.

yeah… the day that happens is the day i drop AoT… Although i totally agree with the feel of the giant robot show… gave me a bit of a gundam feeling what with the political undercurrents, except the good guys barely have shit to work with.

Oreimo S2 episode 8:
That ending… “Break up with senpai.” WHAT! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I really hope this doesn’t happen, or things get worked out between Kyousuke and Kuroneko in the end. They make an exceptionally cute couple and their relationship is fun to watch. :(
