Finally got around to finishing Afro Samurai.
Beautiful art+Style blend and straight forward story. It plays on a lot of themes too. Great watch.
About to start reading the Ao No Exorcist Manga. Already on Chpt 3. So far the anime has been true to the manga pretty much page for page. Anyone keeping up w/ that manga know how it is? About where the does the anime deviate from the manga?
HxH this week was fucking amazing. Why the hell is there such a silent fanbase in america.
I mean, he made yu yu hakusho, which was the talk of the town back when it was on toonami. Youād think people would flock to his new series, but there is like no talk anywhere.
Because HxH is garbage? The fanbase isnāt silent it just doesnāt exist outside of 13 year olds who donāt know better and is even looked down upon by other shounen plebeians.

This weekās Aku no Hana was probably the best episode so far.

Kasuga FINALLY snappedā¦and the destruction was glorious. Nakamura finally had succeeded in her goal; and sheās loving every minute of it. I canāt wait to see how everything goes down next week and especially how Saekiās going to react to Kasugaās written confession.
i think its cause it just wasnt put out there as much. everyone i know watch or watched bleach and naruto, both of those were on cartoon network at one point or another, they have american video game releases at one point or another. so more people know about them. HxH is better than them IMO, but it just wasnt given the same exposure

[details=Spoiler] Well Saeki sure does look like her mother doesnāt she? Outside of that itās pretty interesting that the first depiction we get of her for this episode is of her reading Boudeliars poems. Her room is somewhat surprisingly girly instead of being either neutral or giving off a pure vibe. It really furthers my viewpoint of Saeki being quite nebulous as a character and that she might break the idealistic descriptor that Kasugas always paints her with. Of course these two subtextual points are small footnotes before we get a glimpse of her Saeki views herself as weak despite being praised and revered by everyone else around her.
This minor confession I think is part of one of the overarching themes I find intriguing and satisfying about this show. How the ideas of perception vs reality, social psychology and the human condition are explored and depicted are quite good. How Kasuga starts breaks down and steadily losing his esteem after Saeki puts trust in him is exquisitely done. The consequential self inflicted decaying of Kasugas morals and the simultaneous fulfilling of Nakas fantasy is quite the marvel to behold. The entire last half of the episode is just fucking amazing.
So much shit happens in the last half and I donāt have the energy to write about it but god damn is it amazing. The passing of burdens, the wish fulfillment, the search for acceptance, the sweet embrace of rebellion. I have no idea where the series is going to go but at this point I donāt really care. The flower has truly bloomed.

Episode sevens seems to be when shit hits the fans or something. Flower, Titan and Gargantia all had crazy good episodes this week.

I sure hope they explain why the hell these squids were even considered sacred in the first place. You donāt just worship something because theyāre able to fuck you up in the blink of an eye, I think thatās more fear than anything. Cows are worshiped in India because they contribute a shit ton to agriculture, not because they choose to keep things nice and tidy even if they could wreck everything.
Because the motherfucker keeps taking year long breaks to play Dragon Quest lol. This shit is well documented.
To those of you who are only watching the Shingeki no Kyojin anime and not reading the manga you need to get on the manga asap. I started it last night and Iām only on chapter 28 but its already gone beyond all my expectations. The author seems to have really thought out this story and Iām loving the direction its heading in. Do yourselves a favor and start reading it whenever you get a chance.
Iāll probably start the Shingeko no Kyojin manga sometime this week, maybe even today. Since the manga is ongoing in popular, I just hope it doesnāt turn into some shounen bullshit where the story is compromised by dragging it out for monetary reasons.
Finished Samurai Champloo. Was a fun ride. Nice to see everyone go their own ways, but Iām just thinking how I may have felt if there was no happy ending.
I never got the shounen comparisons with SnK. Unless you have a really loose definition of shounen.

It doesnāt matter what anyone āconsidersā it to be. Itās shounen because itās published in a shounen magazine. Thatās ALL those categories mean at all.
Also the manga is in a monthly mag so I doubt itāll be the dragged out type. FMA was massively popular but that never happened to it either, and itās kinda got the same situation going for it. As long as the author knows what heās doing and is firm itāll probably be fine.
All caught up on the Shingeki manga now. All I can say is holy shit. Never would have thought that things would turn out like this. And yeah as long as the author knows what heās doing (which is sure as hell seems like) then I donāt see this being dragged out at all.
