I think it’s a lot to do with Miria and her voice. It just sounds fucking perfect when she mimics him. That part when they bump into Firo and Maiza makes me crack up everytime and doesn’t even feel like it should be that funny. And generally just the crazy, over the top shit that they do.

It’s hard to say, you can watch the first two without watching the previous series, alot of my friends have and they weren’t able to get lost. But with certain things that could happen in 3 due to some thoughts about how 2 ended.
The series is obviously a lot more fleshed out than in the new Eva movies, if you wanna see how much more of a bitch Shinji is and more indepth character relations then the series can give you that. But the movies are well executed and get down to the point, until the end of the second movie and kinda just spins off from there.
