Anime & Manga Thread v.4 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Thread over. Move onto v.5

You fuckin’ up, mang.

Senoo’s only other OST he worked on was both seasons of Himawari - a rather underrated ninja series. Dunno if it’s good or not.

Choro Club worked on the Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou OVAs - another SoL series and perhaps one of the most well known. It’s highly recommended to read the manga.

Random: SJ is streaming more Cthulhu! http://www.twitch.tv/finestko/

someone give this man a hug

ive heard awesome things about, i tried to watch it…trust me, i tried…i just couldnt stay awake…shrugs

Aria is seriously one of my Top 3 animes of all time, got me through some tough times as gay as that sounds.

That only sounds gay because you said it sounds gay. Its more like “unbelievable”

i fucking love aria. im glad its getting mentioned.

saaaaaaaaame

shit, i should really open up those dvds and rewatch it

Sankarea is trifling as shit.

Cthulhu looks just like RMVX games. I wonder if the developers used the same engine. This was developed by an Xbox live indie developer, right?

Yep, it was made by an XBLI developer; Zeboyd Games. SJ is playing the Steam version which was released recently.

Released last year, actually. lol Just finally got around to playing it now.

Kids on the slope sound track is pretty good, almost too standard though for Yoko Kanno, nothing ground breaking. I found myself singing along to My Favorite Things without even realizing it and wondered why the hell I even know this song. Then I remembered I hear it in Target pretty much daily.

http://www.themanime.org/reviewlist.php?list=rating Any other review sites as good as this one? I appreciate the help on page1, but there are so many anime to choose from it’s a little overwhelming.

Case Closed continues to be great despite it’s Rube Goldberg like tendencies. I finished Hellsing, the show itself is decent I guess nothing special, but the atmosphere and mood are incredible and really what makes it worth watching. Don’t have much motivation to watch Ultimate any time soon. Besides I’m trying to introduce myself to a lot of anime and see which ones I want to stick with.

To scratch my psychological/mystery itch I have Case Closed, Serial Experiments Lain, Paranoia Agent, and for instant Eden of the East.

For action that doesn’t suffer from DBZ syndrome?..I have no idea although you guys talked about Hunter X hunter as if it’s the best so I guess I’ll check it out to see if it lives up to the hype. I saw a bunch of random episodes of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex on toonami I remember liking it so now that it’s on instant I’ll catch up on it some time.

Air sounds really weird but could be exactly what I’m looking for in a good fantasy/drama.

I love the album… I dig Jazz except I know so little artists and songs. A friend told me that a lot of these are oldies.

The anime takes place in the 60’s, so, uh, yeah.

The final episodes to Aria are some of my favorite episodes out of any anime. So much emotional payoff. I can’t think of another anime off the top of my head that had a more fulfilling ending. However, I will admit it’s a very slow show and one that I’d have to be in the mood for to enjoy.

Monogatari menu, anyone?

I think someone here might be a fan of her already.

Shit now Revolutionary Girl Utena and Occult Academy sound really cool I guess they’re on my psychological watch list too damn that’s it I have to stop reading reviews lol.

Eden of the East is awesome go watch it!

I feel left out not knowing what Aria is. You guys are making sound the greatest thing ever.
