Fate/Zero is a prequel to Fate/Stay and is a darker, more adult storyline. If the Fate universe doesn’t really interest you then I don’t really see much point in checking out Fate/Zero. However, if it was just the Fate/Stay Night anime that didn’t interest you then I think it’s still worth checking out Fate/Zero to see if you’ll like it or not. The Fate/Stay anime wasn’t executed very well, imo, and I can understand people getting turned off by it if that’s they’re only exposure to Fate/Stay. That being said, Fate/Zero starts off extremely slow taking several episodes to set up the back drop and characters so if you decide to watch it I’d at least watch the first 3-5 episodes, which is a pretty big time investment considering the first season was only 13 episodes.

FSN never really interested me. I watched carnival phantasm. Mainly because it had a great intro. I have trouble believing I would enjoy the “real” show more than that. Although that show needed more melty blood shit. Maybe if Illya was the main character.

Fate/Whatever has some of the most uninspired designs I have seen in a while for it to be so popular.
For me with fate it has less to do with the character design and more to do with the premise of the show. The overwhelming majority of animes have pretty generic character designs.

It’s not just the design that is horrible but the actual art style itself is just yawn inducing. That being said, Claymore had a kinda ugly art style but it still worked with the manga and translated well into the show.
