Hippos (especially males) kill more people in Africa than all other indigenous African animals combined. They are highly aggressive and territorial, which is why not even Nile crocodiles mess with them.
Thats what I forgot to add. Their looks and mannerisms are very deceiving, they have to be really fast to be able to kill so many people.
