I dont feel to sad about honda anymore. I feel its winable now. Hes still to be feared. I’ve only played one really good honda that scared me. All the rest were just random as fuck.

That’s funny, didn’t suffer any trades when I was AAing with cr.mp. Maybe I was playing the wrong Hondas lol. Like Kail says, most are completely random. I have played good Hondas, but only online so that’s kinda iffy. I usually just lame it out, and it’s been a while since I’ve used Juri, but I remember one of her pokes stuffing Headbutt from afar. Plus I think her J.HP directly on top of his head on wake-up made virtually everything whiff. However, there’s the issue about keeping the lifelead if you screw up and being careful about him headbutting you inbetween fireball charges. But like I said, it’s been a long time since I’ve played Juri, I’m actually learning Oni now since he’s new. Planning to use Juri again soon.

Lol MVC3, oh man. Good thing I knew what I was getting myself into before I started learning that game.

Sorry Ryuga. Playing the wrong hondas. J.mp beats your anti airs clean if you’re a hair off on your timing. It traded a lot. J.hp makes things whiff but auto correct headbutt hurts.

But far mk stuffs it, lk pinwheel CAN punish headbutt, however its a trade in damage. It does as much damage as the block chip does.

How does far.st mk work against it from afar? Plus all of Honda’s reversals can be safe-jumped AFAIK.

EDIT: I tested this out in training mode. From a certain range, Honda’s j.mp will definitely trade with cr.mp. Sub cr.mp with cr.hp and far st.mk which hits him for counter hit damage, probably best to use far st.mk. Up close, it’s standard business, all your AAs shouldn’t trade really.

Block chip in AE is 35 dmg now, you do 40 dmg, is slightly in Juri’s favour, considering total stamina values its not very significant though.

We digress from the OP’s original point. I really would lke to hear their response…

I understand OP. But really, there’s only two things you can do if you want to keep playing SF4, stick to your main (gut it out, empower and enlighten yourself with character knowledge, and keep playing as her), or just shop around for another character.

It took me 2-3 months to get anywhere with Juri. Of course, I’m still not satisfied with where I am now.
It took me longer to get anywhere with my main, Chun-Li. While a more solid character, she has a similar set of problems (bad matchups, low HP, ultra fails, etc).

Online will be online. Not much you can do about lag tactics… it would really be preferable if you had some sort of offline comp.

I agree with deice. If you feel so frustrated, take a break. It might be another fighting game, or a different hobby altogether. This is also the case with one guy in the Chun boards here: http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-fellowship-of-the-thigh-general-chun-li-discussion.59980/page-184

It happens to everyone.

you forgot “Because you are Masochistic”

Juri is the new Vega, I also wanted to main her for a long time, and i still love playing her, she’s jsut missing a few things

  1. an air throw

  2. a wall jump

  3. the ability to fire two EX projectiles at different heights based on the button combination you pushed, as well as two together

  4. the ability to store an EX projectile

  5. the ability to use that cool eye for anything…

  6. wake up invincibility on the pinwheel

  7. safe recovery on a LK dive kick

  8. steerable EX Dive kick

  9. Anti Air ultra 2

10, multiple Hitting Ultra 2 on block

  1. A FOCUS ATTACK THAT CAN ACTUALLY HIT ANYTHING … honestly, her focus attack whiffs practically anyone crouching, its the worst FA in the Game

  2. Faster L2 FA

  3. double air strike

just a few of those would do wonders

What? Juri makes vega look like hakan. Please. You don’t know what your talking about.

Actually. Can a mod just delete that post?

would that make you happier?

can’t you just call your mom to do something about it?

does it really suck to be you so bad that everything you see needs to be removed because you dont like it?

whats next? are you going to make my mouth disappear?

no, I mained vega all through SF4, and now I main Juri, she put me right back in the exact same boat I was in with SF4 Vega

almost identical

Juri would be considered bottom tier, just like vega, and the only people who can consistently win with her are really skilled specialists who dont really use many other characters, because their characters match ups take so long to master, EXACTLY like Vega

He’s been trolling SRK hard today. Just ignore he exists.

and hakan is a bad dude

i dont know how to play him, but he seems like all the so-called bottom tier players, they take a really long time to master due to having to learn completely different styles of playing for each opponent in the game

How do you get “troll” out of any of my posts?

is this a Street Fighter Forum or a place for weird personalities to hide and dwell and flirt with each other?

Vega and Juri are almost the same in level, only Juri may even have a larger learning curve, but both have a similar match-ups style

so… i guess if you hate Street Fighter, or other people’s opinions on Street Fighter, then that’s a troll…

trolling past your cave

really, come out and try to communicate normally, rather than clinging to the cavern walls calling everything new and foreign a troll

A true warrior doesn’t blame his weapon, but himself.
(A take on my Father’s “A warrior can fight well with any weapon” when I complained about my Tennis Racquet.)

At CEO, I lost my first match against a Zangief I tried to rush down, then went on to win 9 straight before running into another Gief that took top 16. I made it to Semi’s in a pool that had Justin Wong (and originally Tokido until they moved him out for seeding purposes) and Inthul.

In Teams, we had a stacked team for our first match, Noel Brown (Vega), Andre (Bison), and Yipes (Abel). I took out Vega and Bison but Abel got me.

I don’t think I did too bad, but I wouldn’t dare blame any of my losses on Juri. In fact, playing Juri against people who are unfamiliar gives you an advantage.

true dat,

man, thats how i felt with vega, and i thouhgt that was gone with SSF4, because i’m good enough with Vega already, now in SSF4 im way better

but with Juri, i feel like i did when i first started playing SF4, i’m getting punished on even my LK dive kicks, punished on all my pinwheels, punished on my forward and upward escapes

just punished left and right against higher level players

i can feel its going to take me a year and the remaining half of my sanity to become really great with her

Sorry I didn’t meant come off that way. I haven’t seen you around here so when I saw a post with so many incorrect statements I thought you were trolling.

Juri doesn’t need an air throw. She hold her ground really really well. She has a million anti airs, a counter to reposition, fireballs that juggle, air to airs that lead to big damage or untechable kd.

She doesn’t need a wall jump she has a dive kick.

You can throw a regular and then regular. That’s 3 projectiles on screen (2 but with 3 hits)

The point of ex fireballs is they’re instant. I don’t wanna store ex ones.

Her feng shui engine is amazing. People just don’t use it correctly IMO.

She has invincibility on her pinwheel… Just not all the way through. Ex counter will deal with this and she has a kasatushi cancel to give it better Pelletier.

Lk dive kick spaced right is safer. you have to use it differently.

!!!I will say she should have different angles of her dive bases on combination.

!!! kaisen works as anti air but the timing is weird.

I don’t understand the multiple hits for kaisen.

It’s not a bad focus attack but it’s not great. Gotta know your ranges.

Her lvl2 is fast enough to combo. It’s fine.

Double air strike?

I feel like you don’t understand how she works. You have to forget vega and give into juri. She’s different from anyone else in this game. She’s weird. Shes not amazing but she’s good he’s definitely Better than vega.

I have to agree with deice- on this one.

It seems to me that you’re just a bit frustrated from playing Juri all the time and that constant grind can get to you sometimes. If you really want to stick with Juri, I say don’t play her (or the game) for while to clear your mind. You should also try limiting the amount of time you play/train everyday, so you don’t burn yourself out too quickly.

I agree with this statement, vega is easy for juri. Any character who has to go in on juri is easy for her. Standing mk all damn day.
Btw kail liked the break down on Juri. I feel a lot of Juri’s gotta stop looking at what’s in front of them and see what they can do to get past all of this bullshit that is the here and now. When you win, don’t feel accomplished, feel hungry people. One victory shouldn’t be enough.

honestly, that focus attack comes down as over head lookng, but it stops like a foot off the ground, and doesnt touch anything on the ground right in front of her…

i’ve never played any character and had so many whiffed FA’s

its the hardest FA to land in the game, IMO

you can absorb a low strike and completely whiff while their leg is still extended

i think thats totally ridiculous

i really just think she should have control of the air too, a good air game… i feel that i cant advance on my opponent because the dive kick is too punishable, unless done from too far away to be very useful

she seems really so slow … trying to get from point A to point B is a daunting task

you just feel stuck on one side of the screen

all you can really do is wait for other people to move, and counter

she’s highly reactionary., too reactionary

maybe if she had a super jump down-up thing that could get you over people easier

anyway, i feel like a turtle with her half the time… not turtling… but just like a real turtle might move about

and the multiple hits on U2 i mean because its not really anti-air, but a reactionary anti-air based on your opponents more serious blunders, and has a high chance of whiffing when you use it as an anti air, it should at lest do a few hits of Chip Damage

or the first hit should take of more chip damage

as it sits, your opponent has to have about 1pixel width of health bar to die from chip damage, and even then, its a gamble

Vega controls the air.

if Juri wants to win, she’s going to have to make it a ground game, and vega will have to make it an air game to win

Juri is simply to weak in the air to defeat a powerful vega, unless she gets him drawn into a ground game

Juri’s air game is weak

but Juri’s strengths lie in reactionary tactics which work well against more aggressive opponents…

Vegas also largely reactionary, both do well against opponents who move the game to them, and when you put them together, you end up with nobody really having the advantage unless the other one wants to get uncharacteristic and play the dominant partner during the match,

but neither of them are actually the dominant partner in their match ups, those are the shotos and other characters who rely solely on being the antagonist and aggressor
