An SvC2 done in kofXII style would own so hard

They spent most of the board’s memory on animating Demitri

All the characters created by pre-bankruptcy SNK were gorgeous - Zero, Dhalsim, Hugo, Demitri… The rushed crap from afterwards (like Vega) looked terrible.

There’s a lot of good stuff in there - the religious themes and art direction, the ammount of packed content and fan-service (just this month someone found a Megaman bot in the code)… But you can clearly see that they later rushed everything to try and make some money, probably to recoup what they lost in the bankruptcy and change of hands).

Hit boxes are the sloppiest ever, and the game design doesn’t seem to make much sense. I bet the game was originally going to be as straight-forward as CVS1, and GCFS was never supposed to be in.

I’ve also seen screwy hit boxes Street Fighter 3 videos and firsthand in Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2.

As far as I know EVERY every 2-d fighting game that has ever been made has some silly infinite combo and balance issues that nobody agrees on, and SvC Chaos is not alone on that boat. I’d say it was an average playing fighter that was sunk by poor presentation.

The original SNK drew some of the sprites? I never knew.
