Corporal punishment is still the norm in Korea, and this video STILL made headlines on MBC, saying he pushed it too far. My wife even saw it and was shocked. And we’re both in agreement of paddling our future children.
I heard the explanation given by him in response to the video, that he lost his temper and went over the line this time, and I would believe him. But there’s the fact that she was recording this. The fact that she made sure to get this on video leads me to believe this wasn’t the first time he went too far in his punishment.
There’s a fine line between punishment and abuse, so all except the fact that she had the presence of mind to record this, I would’ve believed his side that this was a fluke occurrence of him losing his temper. But there has to be a pattern for her to have made sure this was on film.
Either that, or he’s right, and she’s just trying to cash in on him, get sympathy from Oprah, or summat, get a book deal, movie rights, whatever. Which will be futile now that there’s a back story, because we all know if she profits off this, the RIAA will be on her faster than the SRK Lounge can hump the ankles of an unconscious woman.
