Y’all mistaking the dude’s claims, man. He’s saying that when it comes to British solo singer / songwriters of the last 48 hours who were addicts and died young, Winehouse is the best one EVER.

As a recovering heroin addict I can see how this all happened with Amy. When you’re down in the dumps far enough that you’re using something like dope, it’s very hard to see a reason to stop. It must’ve been ten times worse for her. I, personally, stopped because I couldn’t stand the life style anymore. Stealing from loved ones, selling everything I owned, running into the police and scrounging for cash every single day just to take a 30 min ride into the heart of Philadelphia and buy a couple of bags that wouldn’t even last me the night.
She had money, fame and I’m sure some good connections. When you’re that strung out, you begin to question if life is even worth it sober. I’m 22 and I’ve been struggling to get and stay sober for over 5 years. I have a real pessimistic mentality and, to be honest, with how much she struggled to get clean, I wouldn’t be surprised if she did too. What’s the point of getting clean? What really is out there to make life so fufilling? Especially to someone who doesn’t want kids or can’t stand their job or past choices in life.
It really took all my will to get where I am (1 1/2 years sober) and, in all honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Amy threw in the towel. God knows once you’ve been down that far, it’s a hell of a time trying to get back up.
Either way, rest in peace. You’ll be missed.
