This right here, and the same as why I didn’t want to make a thread about the loss of lives from the train wreck in China, because that would have ended up being a massive debate on human rights that I just didn’t feel like engaging in right now.
I mean really… the loss of lives in China and Norway are far more tragic than this, but Amy Winehouse is just a bigger target, and unfortunately more PC. Everyone likes making fun of a celebrity. The harvest should be fine this year. [/obligatory South Park reference]
This is why I’m pretty angry about this. I’ve seen a lot of great performers(especially in pro wrestling) waste their lives away and die from drugs. I’ll admit I didn’t know too much about Amy Winehouse except for those reports about her binges and getting booed out of concerts, but not too long ago I checked out her first album and it was amazing. That just makes it all the more frustrating to me.
I wonder how long it’ll take until they release a disc with her new songs.
Amy was very talented, but overrated. She sounds great on the record but I went to one of her concerts and it was kind of a disappointment (she wasn’t 100% sober, though).
In addition to an earlier bombing in Oslo, a guy dressed as a police officer went to a youth camp on an island called Utoya and went on a rampage. Killed about 84 people there and seven others as a result of the bombing. Real fucked up shit.
Yeah, I heard he gunned down 84 people which boggles my mind unless he locked the people inside the assembly hall before opening fire, but I heard some were shot in the water when trying to escape. How big is that island?
Actually it’s bigger than I imagined. I’m assuming that building is the assembly hall were most of the killings took place? That’s still quite a decent distance to run to the water. It just shows how freakin’ bat shit twisted this guy was to chase a bunch a kids all that way just to kill them.
