So i was watchin various match vids of Evo2k8 and Stunfest 2k9 (france), and we all know the trailer of the Fighting Game Documentary, “I Got Next,” where Mike Ross talks about how the US is split into the 2 coasts and how we’re trying not to get humiliated by Japan. And we’ve all seen what the Japan players are capable of…

So with Evo coming up, Do you root for your country? or do you root for your favorite player? A lot of American players have been inspired by players such as Tokido, Daigo, Nuki, etc. Especially when 3S was the main game…Or is it that people just dont like Jwong because of his image of representing the U.S?

so is Pride, Fanboy, Image, or something else that makes you cheer? if its the Image, how would you like to see the player representing America? Less Pringles more humble?

I think it’s about players’ track record, if you make it about pride then you’re no better than a fanboy and I don’t really see anyone cheering for “gamer image” here…that’s more of a girl gamers (sorry but it’s true, they make them bitches look sexy on purpose) angle.

Anyway, I tend to get behind the guy who I feel I’m learning from. Such as in GG and BB, I tend to gravitate towards Ky/Jin players because that’s who I main and I feel I learn a thing or two by watching good players play with them. I’ll usually give respect to the opponent too but I want my main to win of course.

If it’s for games I don’t play, then I usually tend to just hope for a good exciting match to watch rather than cheering the victor.
