American Government Thread 2: RIP John McCain, 81

Too bad we’re not comparing other countries like Africa are we? We’re speaking about the American Government, in the USA. Last time I checked it’s not a World Government thread.

Calling me stupid? Stop trying to act like they’re both different subjects when the objective for both of them (gun violence and abortion) is to basically take a life. It is a comparison to simply put into perspective that their are other things happening in the US that produce much higher death ratios.

As for the guns, their is enough in the US, to average at least a gun for every US citizen (What’s our current US population? 330 mill or was it 350 mill), and their are probably at least 100 million US citizens whom own a gun or are certified owners (that number could be greater, I don’t remember the exact total), and yet the total violence with them in terms to individuals whom own it is probably in the single digit percentage.

That means the rest of the population of gun owners are actually gasp responsible people whom don’t go around causing Massacres.

What we should really be looking into is the fact that this individual who caused this great horror had symptoms and signs of doing something drastic prior too, but once again, nothing was done to prevent such things.

You’re comparing apples to oranges here, but instead apples and oranges are the same because you eat them. It’s an aboutism that was already said by an admin to leave alone.

There’s always talk about mental health after mass shootings, but at this point it really is just deflection. People want to say it’s mental health, but are against expanding health care in America. Same song and dance but a different day in America. No real change. Fat politicians in Washington continue to line their pockets while people ask for change. If this was really a mental health issue politicians should be lining up to provide care for those that need it, but as we’ve all seen, they don’t actually care.

NRA president said today that violent media and drugs like Ritalin are to blame. There has been tons of research poured into trying to see if violent media is linked to violent behavior, especially video games, and has come up with zero evidence. Video games caused violence as much as vaccines cause autism.

Gun debates are dumb. “No way to prevent this” says the only country where this happens regularly. Texas governor’s response was on point. We just need to pray harder.

Better mental health support would be excellent, but it seems like you could take multiple positive actions not just insist we do nothing since it’s not the perfect choice.

The veil of the 2nd amendment seems to just be the wall of confusion. I don’t think the answer is all or none. There are so many nuances to this problem and each need to be evaluated accordingly. 35k people died on the roads last year, yet we have not banned motor vehicles. There are multiple approaches addressing the need for safety on US roadways. This issue is no different.

Gun violence and abortions are two different subjects and it is the fucking hight of retardation to conflate the two.

Stop it.

You just don’t understand: if we allow any policies to be made as regards cars, they are going to take all the cars away. #freedom

Gun control is the third rail in American politics. Touch it prior to an election and you are usually just done. My first moment of “oh shit she’s going to lose” moment with HRC came when she came out for some random gun control policy. Curious to see what happens in the upcoming elections, but gun fans vote and always vote. Everybody else needs to vote too.

Does anyone know where I can see the videos where Michelle Obama says they will make guns illegal and the one where she says all white men should be eradicated and white women forced to marry black men?

Should be somewhere here https://www.infowars.com/

They aren’t apples to oranges, since they do the samething, but whatever makes you sleep better at night I guess.

Expanding or promoting a universal healthcare because of this is definitely pushing it, since it’s more the culture and the lacking morality that’s occurring with the current generation that’s really escalating a lot of these issues.

The promotion of things such a Nihilism, the wanting or removal of stating that their isn’t really good or evil, right or wrong is completely messing up many of the people today.

This individual whom committed this crime had early visible signs of mental stability, which once again, could have been prevented, but as always, nothing was ever done.

A removal or banning of guns isn’t going to solve this problem, because corrupted people will always find a way to get them anyhow, and their will always be other ways to achieve their agenda regardless.

In the UK, after the handgun bans, the homicide rates skyrocketed to numbers that were never ever seen before, and this lasted for years. Yes, this number has since dropped, however the ratio of homicides is basically the same averages as that of the days when you were allowed to carry guns legally.

Basically, it didn’t even improve anything and in all other cases for countries which have “banned” guns, this is the same scenario. If we saw a drastic and definitive drop off in rates related to homicide etc with the removal of gun bans, their would be some legitimacy, however as it stands, it doesn’t work.

Heck, within the UK, they’re advocating the possible banning of knives now…I guess they’ll be cutting their bread and butter with spoons soon enough.

I’m all for things like a harsher background check of an individual, however I would never be for removal of certain guns which is stupid. Not to mention it will have a direct trickle down effect to basically nullifying the 2nd Amendment all together eventually, because once you start, it isn’t going to stop.

Fucking kek.

the lacking morality

Then let’s go on thinking that it has no relevancy into the current generation whatsoever, because obviously this “doesn’t” have any effects upon what’s going on and why in many ways things seem to get worse instead of better.

Let’s continue the promotion of Nihilism and see where it gets us 10 to 20 years from now.

Once again, Gun Removal still won’t work as I previously stated.

Promotion of nihilism? What the fuck?

Look, if he’s in any way against two girls kissing he’s clearly lost his goddamned mind.

It’s OK that Gun Removal doesn’t work. Don’t think anybody was really asking for that. Seems like it might be reasonable to make some changes to make things better - you can pick what things you want to improve. I’m all for improving welfare, mental health services, and the tax code, for example. But if you just want to grin and say everybody gets shot… gotta say that is in the spirit of SRK.

Oh Summer Child, you think SCOUTUS ever operated with the working person in mind?
Oh No, All they care about is how the law applies to their interpretation of the United States Constitution and does said case is for or violates the Constitution.

To answer that question, No. No I didn’t.

So the take away is that we’re now getting even more "legally fucked over "!!
