Considering that most of Trumps spending is still on left leaning entitlement spending why do you care? Trump has made no meaningful cuts to entitlement spending.
However due to his cuts an estimated 2 million less people are on food stamps. So that is helping to curb that spending.
But hey no worries, when Oprah wins the 2020 election sheâll raise taxes on everyone.

The point was to bump us out of the recession that he inherited through the surprisingly consistently shitty Republican economic policies. You spend your way out of the badness, and then you refill the coffers, not permanently cut taxes on the rich, when things are going well. I used âpermanentlyâ there because the tax bill is meant to trick the dumb by giving them temporary minor benefits while fucking you long term. Much like the oh so generous corporations giving you temporary one-time bonuses as they get permanently richer.

Iâm unclear as to why I would think that his spending on âleft leaningâ entitlement programs is relevant. It turns out that in most political systems you use tax revenue to fund programs. You can just skip collecting revenue and still fund programs, but that seems inane.
Iâm unclear why cutting food stamp spending is good. In theory you want to provide people enough baseline that they can work themselves into better positions and better society. Maybe you donât like it: awesome. Seems insignificant compared to military spending.
Hey no worries, Trump set everything up to raise your taxes in 2028 already. Seems like the trend right now is for Republicans to wreck things by cutting tax revenue (âstarve the beastâ inanity) and Democrats to try to get the economy back on track by raising taxes. Itâs got to be sweet being the irresponsible party giving everybody all the presents and tax cuts that you canât afford and will in fact have to pay back later.
You should read up on economic policy. Obama definitely didnât get it all right, but he did some pretty critically positive things. If youâre even thinking about the âfirst 11 monthsâ as a bad thing, Iâm flabbergasted.

Great article. Baby boomers and their collective âfuck you, Iâve got mineâ mentality have been one of the single most destructive things to happen to the US. Their parents gave them the keys to the kingdom and what did they do? Make sure anyone coming after them was screwed from the get go because their disasterous policies and inability to admit they might be wrong about something are the hallmarks of their generation.
