Yyyyyyyup. Military service has changed. My grandfathers we’re both in WW2 and maybe they were different or the times were different, but their time in the military didn’t define their lives, it was just a chapter of it. Seems different for the guys from Vietnam till now tho.
Cause back then you actually had a reason to fight in the military.
Nobody is attacking the American seaboards now, so no one feels the need to fight.

Weed would be legal everywhere for a verity of reasons, it’s not just one thing. It didnt even start with private prisons, it started with interest groups paying law makers to cut competition and to vilify foreigners.
That and the alcohol lobby didn’t have a heavy hand in lobbying for it to stay illegal.

I have a question. Now that Sessions is gone and the new acting AG is pretty critical of the Mueller investigation, what’s going to happen? If Trump fires Mueller or has someone do it on his behalf, what happens, and what recourse is there?

this is totally on trump. the senate was a long shot for the democrats. they were defending,iirc,26 Senate seats while the gop were defending only 9 seats and needed an highly unlikely near-perfect run to win the senate. nonetheless, how can a party roll into midterms with a good economy, 4% unemployment, use software to increase the efficiency of gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc to give your party an edge and still shit the bed by losing the house? this would have been a political layup for any 2016 gop presidential candidate not named trump. paul ryan told trump to lay off the bat shit crazy, apocalyptic hysteria. what does trump do? throws ryan under the bus and goes with his bush-league political instincts.
well, they do love to fabricate their conspiracy theories. in any case, despite all the talk of socialism and open borders coming from trump. the democracts never had a history or tendency towards the bat shit craziness that seems to be inherent within certain factions of the gop. they never had a counterpart to the john birch society or the freedom caucus. they didn’t put a speaker’s gavel in the hands of someone like newt gingrich who helped set the stage for the house and their party decline into dysfunction and intellectual rot. still, that didn’t happen overnight either.

Trump won’t release any of his tax returns, and if he does, they’ll be well redacted to hide all the unscrupulous deals and people he’s made money from.

it doesn’t really matter now. the democrats were deferential to the Mueller investigation because they were out of power, but now that they control the house. they can exercise congressional oversight or what the gop refused to do while they were in power. they can straight up clown and go on some newt gingrich shit and weaponize congressional hearings and investigations for the next two years or they can be smart about it and pick their spots. trump is already talking stupid at the prospect.
