My mistake RE the definition, I was clicking the wrong link. I still stand by what I said earlier though, the addition if words in the one definition seems like an afterthought and it’s an example of folks moving goalposts and changing definitions to suit them just like with the word “literally.” Just because you think it means something doesn’t make it true and as.with most things on the internet, you can keep googling until you get what you want. That’s the only dictionary definition I’ve seen that mentions words as violence.
RE what you said about teen suicides is a strawman argument that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about. No, a kid being called names is not violence. Is it shitty? Sure, but it’s not the same as a kid physically getting their ass kicked no matter how much you wish it was. We’ll just have to agree to disagree because this doesn’t seem like it’s going to go anywhere.

Yup I have. Several times in my life. And I dealt with it rather than crying about it and trying to equivocate it to being beaten up when it’s not the same thing.

I know not everyone’s able to be strong, but having to move goalposts because you aren’t psychologically able to handle something on your own isn’t the answer. I’ve been to therapists, I’ve been in psychologically abusive relationships, but holding onto things and acting like this problem isn’t you isn’t the answer.

That the single definition that you allow yourself to accept for “violence” is the only one everyone else is allowed - IN SPITE of numerous examples in dictionaries and scientific journals proving the contrary to be factual?
The one I’m citing is the commonly accepted definition. The one you’re advocating may eventually be accepted but as of now, violence is considered purely physical.
