Worse, the four other people she identified as attending the party, including Kavanaugh, all deny knowledge of the gathering in question, including Leland Ingham Keyser, who she calls a “lifelong friend.”
Keyser’s lawyer told the Senate Judiciary Committee: “Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with or without Dr. Ford.”
The other two potential witnesses — Mark Judge and Patrick “P.J.” Smyth — also deny any recollection of attending such a party. The committee took their sworn statements “under penalty of perjury.” “These witnesses directly contradict Professor Ford’s allegations against Judge Kavanaugh,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley advised Ford’s attorneys last week.
In her original letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Ford claimed that Kavanaugh talked to Keyser and Smyth right after he assaulted her. Yet neither shares her memory. This is, to say the least, highly problematic for her case. No witness corroborates any part of her story.
What happened with Merrick Garland, President Obama’s pick, who was praised by many Republicans, to fill the vacancy left by Antonin Scalia’s passing: https://www.npr.org/2018/06/29/624467256/what-happened-with-merrick-garland-in-2016-and-why-it-matters-now
After today’s hearing, I saw Kavanaugh as not non-partisan. Justices are supposed to be non-partisan. I don’t think he’s fit to be a part of the SCOTUS.
@truendymion She also passed a polygraph. See if she didn’t pass this I would be highly suspect.
So again we have someone who does not want a thorough investigation by the FBI vs someone who passed a polygraph that even Brett himself in other cases has called a very useful tool.
See above tho smart guy. There is a reason cooperation’s want this clearly corrupt mother fucker.
But stick to your one-sided youtube videos and clearly biased sites you copy from like the New York Post.
A sense of irony is a wonderful thing. If you develop it one day, you’ll find this as hilarious as I do.
Only if he foregoes the rest of his senses(s).
What is there to investigate? All of the people Ford named have testified under oath that nothing happened.
Why do Democrats continue to allow Repugs to run roughshod, talking over them, whenever they have the floor?
Dem need to shout the interrupting assholes the fuck down, and insist that the rules be upheld, and those who violate them get kicked the fuck out until they can act right.
How about confidentiality rules?
The Dems showed they care more about short term political gain then the stability of the union. They are laying the ground work for civil war.
God I hope so.
Somebody has to fight to get this country back from the usurpers in office.
I definitely looked at her and thought she was a master spy.
Edit: interesting:
TBF. I don’t think Ford thinks she was lying. If there is one thing to be taken from their testimonies, it’s that both Ford AND Kavanaugh sincerely believe what they say.
That means someone’s memory is faulty. That’s why the Rashomon Effect is a thing. Of course “who’s memory” is something that people will tend to decide based on which “side”’ one sits on. (And yeah, I’d go with the one who didn’t name a bunch of people who all ended up denying the incident)
Is that dude starhammer because posting that twig boy without a summation of points should be bannable
Buuuut they didn’t:
Ford explicitly covered the other two in her statement, who said they don’t remember the incident not that it didn’t happen. Judge claims to have no memory, presumably because he was drunk. His recollection of Kavanaugh would seemingly indicate Kavanaugh was lying under oath: that’s a fascinating angle.
You’ve got Kavanaugh saying it didn’t happen, three people saying they don’t remember, and one person saying she definitely remembers. Multiple people are saying Kavanaugh had an alcohol problem.
I agree you have a Rashomon here, but with that in mind - the Kavanaugh calendar, Judge book (which conflicts with Kavanaugh’s evaluation of himself), and Ford’s recollections seem pretty bad. You have Kavanaugh avowing that he was going to Timmys for drinks with Judge at almost exactly the time that Ford mentions.
I suspect that the Republicans will press onwards, but … it’s not a good look. Good thing the Republicans changed the rules to allow them to appoint Kavanaugh, as without that this would clearly be dead in the water.
I made no effort to defend her, so you needing to shit images in this thread is unwarranted. You’ve had your (repeated) say, we can all agree that that’s what you think about things that happened in the past, and at this point we’re talking about new things that are happening currently per the original post in this thread.
As always, she’s the world’s greatest criminal mastermind to be behind all those crimes and yet to have jack shit charges brought against her after 25 years of investigation and hatred. We apply that same scrutiny to anybody in the Trump administration and it turns out they fold like wet cardboard.
Still very curious as to what happens next with the Manafort issue. I can’t imagine that goes away quietly. This week is fascinating, next week is fascinating (Rosenstein!), this time is a fucking goldmine of historical moments. In current American politics.
LOOOOOOL!
The only reason she isn’t being charged is because of who she is and her position in the political world. She gets away with a lot of shit that an average joe like you or me, or even a lower ranking member of government would never get away with.

I know of no way of judging the future present but by the past.
OK, you want current events? Sure.
I’m not sure if I believe Ford or not, fake crying is a bad sign. But it doesn’t matter if you believe Ford or not, there’s no way to prove it. You can’t destroy someone’s life based on an uncorroborated allegation. That’s not justice.
Not hiring the guy for one very specific lifetime job with massive power and responsibility is hardly destroying his life though.
The R’s absolutely have to have a dozen other potential nominees who are in legal philosophy carbon copies of Kav, but without all the shady moral baggage. They’re just too hung up on saving face to pivot, for some reason. Honestly, pivoting would be a better look for them at this point.
