American Government Thread 2: RIP John McCain, 81

Is it getting THAT hard to troll effectively?

What you lacked in nuance, you made up for in simple consistency.

You’re getting lazy.

Well, it’s a good thing Fox News is right there, on top of it.

If only he were a multiple count rape accusee!

He coulda been a contender!

For a lifetime office!

For greater Justice!

Brett goes in, even blackout drunk.

Justice is blind.

Brett’s going to rape her HARD.

All this “why not nominate someone else but Kavanagh” is hilarious. It’s almost as if you guys really believe that Dems won’t roll out another parade of accusers (that will conveniently be forgotten after the nomination is over) for anyone else.

In fact I will take it on good faith that you guys believe it.

That’s kinda scarier.

Did you read that in one of Hillary’s e-mails to Putin?

That’s called an assumption and we all know how those work.

It is a logical question to ask what makes him the best possible candidate given the circumstances. I’m not full stop saying that these women are telling the entire truth, but to have multiple allegations is a bit alarming.

and please, don’t have Avenatti even think he’s a serious contender for POTUS. That’s just asking for more stupid to take place.

I mean McConnell didn’t want Kavanaugh, so yeah I guess this is just some partisan thing. From Republicans.

But you right, you right. That totally happened to Neil Gorsuch!

Oh wait it didn’t.

Where the fuck do your talking points come from? They make no sense. Neil Gorsuch, current Supreme Court Justice in a stolen seat that is proper to be livid about, says hello. Fucking pay attention to reality.

There would’ve been no realistic point to delaying the Gorsuch vote.

With Kavanaugh the play is clear. Stall till the mid terms.

I know you’re not dumb, and I don’t pretend that I can change any minds here. I only ask that the same courtesy be extended to me.

Literally same shit as trump

They could have chosen ted cruz and would have won

And he would have been way less of a shit show

This chaotic shit show reallity show bullshit having real world effects is bullshit.

Trump already set the record for number of vacation days spent out of office

Republicans engage in whataboutisms. A dishonest debate tactic that attempts to derail arguments from the point at hand, which in truth only exposes how weak their actual points actually are.

Democrats highlight inconsistent behavior by their enemies. A fair minded approach that exhibits a shrewd attention to details and ideas, and the interplay between both.

Four legs good, two legs baaaaaaaahhhdd.

the UN laughs at the absurdity of trump’s fabulist and self aggrandizing remark and a cult member runs up in here and claims it’s the media’s fault. the media doesn’t make trump do and say dumb shit. he does that all on his own and it’s almost as funny as watching trumpers perform mental gymnastics and cop pleas on his behalf to absolve his stupidity. lol…cult45, y’all.

if the snowflake caucus didn’t care. they wouldn’t spend countless of man hours trying to convince people the media is the source of trump’s dumb shit and not trump himself.

apparently, not a camera lens. according to his cult45, it seems those lenses are also part of the deep state conspiracy to make trump look bad.

actually, trump just claimed they were laughing with him. which is pretty funny when you think of all the cult members who were just undermined by dear leader and getting clowned after wiping trump’s ass defending him.

you know why.

it’s a better alternative than the idea of getting finessed by a simpleton.

timing. sure, they could pick someone else (the gop will likely still control the senate after midterms), but it’s a political calculation. the gop doesn’t want to go into midterms with a failed scotus pick. it might demoralize their base. in any case, kavanaugh brought part of this shit on himself by sucking trump’s dick (unlike gorsuch) and portraying himself as this paragon of virtue.

“i went to an expensive, private, all boys high school and never drank a beer, remained a virgin until i got married and never engaged in any kind of fuckery despite being in that thirsty, hard leg environment. i went to church everyday and prayed to jesus to help me overcome my hardships.”.

lol…it’s like this guy had no clue that his background would be investigated by both parties and that people who knew him back in the day might come out the woodwork and start snitching on him.

lol…only one person is holding an L and it’s not the porn lawyer. a sitting president is having a clown fight on twitter with a porn lawyer. trump not only acknowledged his existence for the first time. avenatti took a massive shit on a trump for his effort. you want to blame the media for this latest example of trump’s stupidity too?

Calling out hypocrisy isn’t “whataboutism” (I hate that word).

Whataboutism is a type of flawed rhetorical tactic in support of an argument, and may or may not be hypocritical. Whereas calling out hypocrisy is just saying that someone is being an asshole by using self serving contradictions.

I only ask that the same courtesy be extended to me.

Everything from “It’s almost as if…” on in your comment I was replying to implies a lack of courtesy. McConnell thought that Kavanaugh was a shitty choice. So the bit about others believing things and being scary… you’re claiming something to be partisan that was not partisan. That seems needless. There were and are other choices that both sides agreed would not be troublesome. Conservative justice Merrick Garland, for example. But instead Trump, not the Republicans, went with the most troublesome nominee. That’s not fucking partisan and making it out to be is bad faith.

If you don’t want a parade of accusers, don’t nominate somebody that would have accusers. Blaming anybody else for Kavanaugh having accusers dating back thirty years is braindead. What, did somehow the Democrats get a time machine and arrange for this all to happen? Is Mark Judge’s book about “Bart O’Kavanaugh” somehow just a Democratic plot?

Oh no, they’re going to stall somebody that probably should not be appointed? Maybe the Republicans should have chosen somebody that should be appointed? You know, if the Republicans don’t choose to nominate with very substantial skeletons in his closet, skeletons that that big mean Democrat McConnell was wary of, you don’t have any of these problems.

The stance you took in that post is ludicrous and not worthy of you. The Republicans made a shitty call, and maybe they can ram it through because they own Congress, but it’s not something they should be ramming through. They should be canning this nomination and going with somebody else. They fucked up, and this is an own goal not any amazing time traveling plot from liberals. It’s a lifetime appointment, and should be treated with that level of respect.

This is tough to watch and sad.

Meanwhile…

WHAT IF Trump purposely picked the most troublesome nominee so that it would take until the midterms to confirm him, Dems take over congress and SCOTUS noms get stalled until a new administration comes in??

FIVE. DEE. CHESS.
Mind asplodes.

Well one side hired a prosecutor to question the victim.
