Getting scared into a shootout is a product of bad coaching, period. I’m not taking anything away from what KC did. Being down double digits is nothing to them, they always have the ability to takeover a game at will which is something very few teams in the history of the league can do. Having that mental toughness to always be in any single game no matter what, and the actual offensive ability to actually execute on that level.
But SF had that game. They got cute, and then they got scared and once they got scared the game was 100% over. You can’t be scared in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. It’s a guaranteed loss. You run your gameplan. SF didn’t and that was that.
Jimmy G is the definition of average. Dude never had to be tested in the playoffs because the defense was crushing it and their run game was unstoppable. It wasn’t his fault at all that he didn’t throw much or wasn’t tested in the playoffs, but that is just how it played out. Then when it came down to it at the end, he just didn’t get it done. He could have been a hero had he connected on that deep pass with a wide open receiver, but it wasn’t even close.
And now Kyle Shanahan is known for being a Super Bowl choker. I’m sure you all already heard the stat so I’m not going to repeat it, but his reputation will be tainted until he wins one.

So basically as Andy Reid ascends to undisputed Hall of Fame coach, Kyle seems poised to his place as great Offensive coach but troubles in the post season.
That’s how the Seahawks played every single game this year.

XFL this weekend. I dunno what to think. The double forward pass rule is gonna really open up the playbooks.
They need to lock this dude up in a Super Max prison for the sheer stupidity alone.
I am going to give the XFL a legit chance. Worst case its garbage and just 3rd-4th quarter NFL pre-season.

It’s honestly not as big a deal as some people make it out to be. Really it’s to make life a ton easier for both offenses but mainly refs. Instead of having to deal with the “is it a lateral” shit this just makes life easier and keeps the game moving.
It will make the WR Screen game hilarious though.

I’ll be tuning in to see what’s up. The rules seem like they’ll make the game flow faster. I’d be surprised if we see any ties with the multiple PAT options they have.
There won’t be with the new OT rules anyway but yeah I doubt any game hits OT.
I like football so I will give it a shot. Hopefully it last a bit and doesn’t implode like Alliance.
