How does a team absolutely ruin a promising career of a generational talent at QB? Simple: Don’t fortify the offensive line. Panthers better make note of that of they want to keep Newton around.

What the Texans just did is what more teams should do and as a fan you should be exited.
They knew the LT weakness would both risk Watsons health and cost them games. They went a got a top 10 guy who does his job well and a WR who is a great deep ball guy. This is worth a first rounder.
They traded Clowney for Mingo(not Clowney but serviceable), a upside player and a pick. Seahawks won the trade because even if just one year for Clowney they get a comp pick.
Trade for a RB who can power run… Los Hyde is perfect for this offense and with Johnson a good 1-2 punch.
Your Texans didn’t risk any future they are doing the new age model in having a cheap good QB under his rookie contract and put a solid roster around him in a division that has Foles,Mariota(or Tanneshit) and Brisset at QB.
If the Texans did this in the off season orbat the start of training camp where Tunsil and all the new pieces could have to time to adapt and adjust I would feel better. If it wasn’t clear O’Brien or Gaine or whoever botched things with Clowney to the point we are giving him up for basically nothing of equal value, I could live with. But we have so many flaws not in the roster but leadership, I as a Texans fan can’t see even a roster this talented being able to make it to the Superbowl.
