Ama: "tekken tag tournament 2 hori stick wii u edition"

Those are Kuros, but that’s definitely not a Hayabusa in the picture you posted above.

In fact, the Hori specs on their website never state they use a Hayabusa. They say they used a “modified version of the stick lever in the Fighting Stick series”. Which is what it looks like.

They do, state outright that they use Kuro buttons in this stick.

This is the back of a Hayabusa, straight from Hori USA and into my cabinet. The stick in your picture is definitely not- nothing about it matches. As for the buttons, all I’ve been able to dig up on them is that they’re “modified Kuros”, which likely means different microswitches.

If the Galaga and Pac-Man machines have the same sticks as your local SF cabinet, someone has probably put IL/Happ parts in them, which would ba an odd choice for those games. http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/8-way-only-joysticks/165-il-eurostick-joystick-black.html

I hate to be blunt, but 8/10 for a 120 Euro stick with non-arcade parts shows why you should leave this kind of thing to us pros who actually do this kind of reviewing for a living.

Seriously, you were ripped off buying that stick. That’s not a Hayabusa and those don’t look like proper Kuros either. Most likely whoever you’re talking to at Hori in Europe is either lying or does not know what he’s talking about.

So far, the Hayabusa + Kuro combination is available only on the Fighting Edge, V3 Hayabusa and the upcoming V4 (if you don’t count buying them as standalone parts).

From my experience with Hori Europe it is likely to be the latter.

I’ve received all information from Hori so that’s my source.

Also may I remind you FreedomGundam that you mentioned this unit to have a Hayabusa yourself? Hori Tekken Tag 2 Wii U Edition Fighting Stick

For that price, you can get a MadCatz TTT2 Tournament Edition which uses genuine Sanwa parts.

Might I also point out that my statement was made over a year ago after someone else read the associated article and made the note that said article (ie, the one from 4gamer.net) pointed out that it came with a Hayabusa.

But that’s not where we’re going with this. It was originally rumored that this stick would come with a Hayabusa. We all thought so, and this was before the stick came out.

You have the stick NOW, and you have reference NOW (from both the Fighting Edge and standalone Hayabusas release) to show that it is NOT a Hayabusa in there.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad that there are internal pictures of this stick now that you’ve posted it.
It’s just that it doesn’t feel like you’ve done enough research to make any sort of the comparisons you’ve made particularly credible, especially in identifying the joystick not being a Hayabusa.

Perhaps it’s more the wording of the thread that’s incorrect. Maybe instead of “review” (which we’d expect from someone knowledgeable and experienced enough to made concrete identification and comparisons), maybe it should instead be a “first impressions” thread (where we’d understand it’s just someone using the stick, and getting a feel for it).

You know, I’d still be interested to see the non-Hayabusa lever in there. Can you take it apart and break it down? I’m willing to bet it’s the same, but doesn’t have the v cam housing. Maybe it also doesn’t have the sides to protect the switches, too. That gate is definitely not a Hayabusa gate, but it looks nearly identical for most aspects of it.

Looks to me like the same old lever that they’ve been using in their lower end Fighting Stick line for years now.

Defintely not the same as a Hayabusa.

Indeed it does! I’d still like to see it broken down though

I’ll go as far as to say that it doesn’t just look like it, but that it is the same stick as in the old FSes.

Because of the shaft cover and different dust washer it looks like these were left over from the budget FS:VX / V3 models.

There is nothing Hayabusa about it.
