Okay thanks again earlier in this thread for awnsering me first questions in here.

Alright I got some new questions now if anyone can understand them.

1.See lately I’ve been falling for sakura’s shoryuken hp set ups and was curious how the hell do you [escpecially in v-ism] avoid them?

2.How do you take down cody in v-ism? Cause most of hits I pull on him, he has the cablability to dodge them.

3.What are the best custom combo set ups for sagat?

  2. poke low, always and throw. Unless the cody player is good (very very few are), then you should be able to GC him quick.

3.AA VC, after punch throw if they flip wrong, and vc through people who like to jab a lot.

Oh my bad caliagent,I’ll explain what I meant. See what I mean is like her guard crush set ups that are usually caused when she does her shoryuken combos. Is there any way to get tha fuck out of those or not?

Hmmm i’m still don’t understand what you mean. Are you talking about her crossup GC strings after her SRK? Depending on the character you can try to reversal or VC through it. But you gotta be careful, becuase you might get baited and punished. What character are you using?

Mostly it happens when I use a-geif, v-sagat, v-karin or a/v-vega

VS Sak you wanna avoid being knocked down…for example, watch for walkup ->throw, since she can cross up after her PP throw. You can reverasl VC/super/whatever (ie between crouching Short xx b+FP or B+FP xx fireball), but that’s a little dangerous. VS the crossup you can do reveral moves, but if those won’t help any, you can try to reversal with a special move which lifts you off of the ground…ie shoto hurricane kick, so you’ll only take the one hit (assuming she didn’t predict that you’d do so). Of the characters you listed, I think reversal wall dive is airborne fast enough, and I’m pretty sure reversal lariat with 'Gief beats pretty much anything, with the right timing.

Whenever I get knocked down and my opponent stands over me and I know they are going to throw I always hit c. jab or c.short. But I always end up getting thrown. I was using karin btw. My opponent would then always walk right up to me on wake up and throw but I would be furiously mashing c.short but the short never comes out to stop the throw. I don’t know if this is because im on kaillera or what but is this normal? Would this happen in the arcade under the same circumstances. Do throws beat out normals on wake up? thx

1.) I think TS covered this well. Sakura is a top tier bitch, simple. I think you mean that after you have been fierce dragon’ed, you want out of the loop? reversal lariat with gief? reversal jab dragon with sagat? VC escapes with v-karin /vega?

2.) How to take down cody in 1 easy step. :confused: guard crush. As a Cody player i know his weaknesses. Once people know how to fight COdy, they will try and smother him. He has no real reversal moves that can save him, bar vc.

Basically force blocking, and make Cody block string patterns. I.e Rose can trap him with cross-up j.forward, then, c.short x 3, c.roundhouse. This isnt a combo, but it will take most guard bar. sweep after one guard crush, then repeat pattern. A meaty j.fierce /j.roundhouse, c.roundhouse will probably crush again. free hits if he trys to escape.

Then again i know all this and try and use it for baiting. but thats level 2.

  1. V-sagat? CC’s? sweet. set-ups? No doubt you know the tried and tested Anti-air. VC2, strong dragon. You have the VC1, c.short cross-up. You don’t want vc1 though. in my humble opininon, VC2 roundhouse tiger knees is best set-up. Simply because it can blow through pokes. you can walk upto sak, predict her s.roundhouse, and vc that whore. trying to VC a jab/s is risky. you get into the habit of spotting first few frames of medium/fierce attacks, or physic prediction is my flex. If you land j.strong on jump-back counter hit, you can go into mid-screen cc vc.

V-sagat owns. walk-cancels into crouch cancels into player 2 in and out corner.

I know that this is an stupid question, but how do you do Akuma’s air command grab? I have searched and from what I have seen and read you do the air rolling move (tk+p) and then, when you are near them, you hit P or K. I have tried to do it, on corner, on midscreen, enemy jumping, enemy crouched, but I can’t do it. I can do Guy’s grab (qcf+p, p) without problems, so I don’t know if I’m just stupid or I’m missing something, but I can’t do Akuma’s. I’m trying with V-Akuma BTW (don’t know if it matters).

Plus any direction except up or down.

No, V-vega random comebacks…too strong. If only I wasn’t so confused about timing his jumpins and of course doing the flipkick during VCs thats a problem too

i am new in playing alpha 3 and i wanna master the character guy. besides the guide in gamefaqs.com where can i find moves strategies everything i need to know in order to master him. somebody please reply. and also, if guy is a shitty character to play with somebody reccomend me a different character
