Anyone else feel like there’s nothing else to learn about Hawk? Even thought you might not know how each moves beats the entire casts move list, there’s just nothing more to really know?
I remember a year ago this time I was beyond thirsty for knowledge and wanted to try and read everything there was. Now it’s like “eh”.
Hawk’s a very simple character. I don’t think there’ll be any “advanced” techniques being found anytime soon.

im sure hawk have some hidden stuff, like the thust peak for example, that shit must have a good use that players dunno yet, option selects and tricks, since hawk debut in sf4 serie in a little time,we just need time to figure out, just remeber ST we need to wait like 10 years to see some masters hawk players

Right now there’s not the same level of “research” per say being put into character development. However the same goes for almost everyone else in the SF4 cast. There’s a 30+ character roster. Compared to the ST cast that’s well over double.
To figure out each characters nuances you need to understand how the game mechanics work and figure out the fuzzy areas. Things like fuzzy guard, input leniencies, input priority, Option-Selects, ambiguous cross-ups, unblockables, glitches, etc.
Until there is some major steps forward universally across the cast, it’s going to feel like T. hawk has nothing else to research. Characters like Hakan, Juri, Gen are not going to be seen to their full potential either until some mechanical nuances are realized.
I’m sure there is more to his play-style than we think.
Hawk has more to him than people think. It’s just not widely circulated.
Thrust peak is a secret top tier poke. Its beat quite a few pokes pretty handily.

You may have run out of new techniques to learn but your fundamentals and your yomi can always be refined and improved.
Even if you’re right and there’s nothing new to learn about The Hawk, I personally don’t mind. Keeping my core gameplan sharp is more important to me than spending hours learning gimmicky shenanigans anyways.
Although I do love me some gimmicky shenanigans every now and again.

Could you fill us in on this info?

Be specific and I’ll try to help. Too lazy to post up everything I can think of.
Just wait until 2012 when we all have to re-learn the game again.

^ 2012 isn’t changing Hawk’s game significantly.
I think it will, because the entire cast will be modified.

So, Hawk’s game plan won’t be “make opponent stay on ground so I can command grab” in 2012? The techniques he currently has to keep an opponent grounded aren’t really changing.
He’s basically the same character fundamentally yeah.
I still agree with Joe, we’ll all have to adjust our games from slight to perhaps even drastic measures when the patch hits. T.Hawk won’t have changed much but he does get some new stuff and the rest of the cast might have more hidden changes too.
I dont feel like updating my matchup notes…again… Need to find a new pen color…
Someone translated something in a video comment and said that Capcom is still working on changes for 2012…I can’t remember where I read thato r what, but it just gave me another glimmer of hope. See how bad I want a better Hawk?
We all want a better Hawk and none of us here would blame you for that, but…are you serious? Awwww c’mon, try to remember! >:(
