He’s not trying to rip off anyone. That would imply that he is misleading people to purchase something other than advertised. They sell for whatever the market demands at the moment, which happens to more than he was asking. He has a TE and wants X-amount for it. If you don’t like the price than don’t buy it. Anyway, it sold quickly for his asking price so end of story.
