I prefeer cash when possible. It keeps spending in line and easier to manage. It also means I carry less money and less shit that could be stolen by assholes who deserve death through public flogging.

with a debit card I essentially cary all of my money and I can spend without really having to think how much I have.
When I carry cash, I’m always aware of how much I have with me and how much I can spend. I’m also forced to carry less than 20-40 dollars at a time in the event I lose my wallet or it gets stolen.
You know you can set daily spending limits on debit and credit cards right? Also just being good at budgeting yourself and cutting down on impulse buys helps.
I next to never carry cash on me anymore. I hate it. Anytime I ever get more than $20 in cash I deposit it to my bank.
