That is a hell of a nice sequence! I never used crHP after crossing with sledgehammer, will try that. Was that possible on season 1? It definitely opens up new possibilities for follow up if you can keep juggling the opponent.
(side note: I found this site that I think is new, v-league. You can see rankings and stuff, but it’s kinda incomplete right now. But they do have this cool signature feature, that I will test now hehe)

Thanks, funny thing is after STUN you can FULLY charge Sledgehammer (you have just enough V Trigger bar left to do it at this point) and do Fw.Hp (lariat) xx St Mp xx St Lp/Mp Chop xx Critical Art OR reset with Powerbomb
Your stun combos basically combo down to how much V Gauge you have and if you want to swap sides.
If you have half or so V Gauge and want to remain on the same side
Full Sledge -> f.hp -> st.mp xx Sledge xx MP/EX Chop and can cancel MP Chop into CA
Full Sledge -> cr.hp (1 hit) xx Sledge -> LK Knee (character specific)
I wouldn’t bother going into EX Knee in these cases, as I believe it does less damage and has a worse setup; you’re +4 after a dash up but further away and that extra frame doesn’t help too much.
Not enough V Gauge for double Sledge, causes a sideswap
V Skill -> st.hk -> f.hp -> st.mp xx Sledge xx MP/EX Chop and can cancel MP Chop into CA
V Skill -> st.hk -> cr.hp (1 hit) xx Sledge -> LK Knee (character specific)
This all assumes you are in VT already. If you aren’t, I think (needs confirmation) that you can do

Really, the only change here is that if you want to end in a Sledge xx MP Chop you can do f.hp -> st.mp now instead of just st.hp.

If you know how to buffer charge with Alex to do his resets with either Air Stampede or Headbutt, like for exemple Fw HP (lariat) xx St Mp xx Air Stampede there’s a new twist now, if you do EX Air Stampede and they JUMP to avoid it, you recover fast enough to immediately do a Lk Air knee to catch them ! no escape!

after a EX Knee, if they quickrise and hit a button, dash xx St.LP xx LP CHOP (St LP beats 3 frames) now IF after this you try to go for Cr.MK and it connects , if you do Sledgehammer IT WILL COMBO without counter hit ! i think it must be spacing related and for whatever reason it works after this specific chain of moves. It reminds me on how Urien was able to link headbutts together can someone test this ?

I’ll bet that specific spacing makes cr mk not hit until the 2nd active frame and become just positive enough to work.

Still works normally for me. I’m stuck with lots of work and family stuff today, but I’d like to test (or see tested) whether crMP xx VT, crMK xx Sledgehammer works. Better range than sHP, and if it connects without being CH, as the friend stated above, that’s a nice tool.
Plus, I think I misunderstood the sequence and thought you could input crHP AFTER sledgehammer. What you’re saying is just that you can do VT, crhp xx sledghammer, which was something that, albeit useful, was already available. What I THOUGHT you were saying was that you could do something like CC fHP, sHP xx VT, fHP, sMP, sledgehammer, crHP xx sledgehammer (on the first hit), lk knee. THAT would be absolutely nuts, because you’d further develop the combo by juggling the opponent. But that depends on crHP working after sledgehammer, which I now doubt (and can’t immediately test, fingers itching here haha).
Atm I don’t think winning a Major with Alex alone is possible. Well its POSSIBlE but its going to be extremely hard. Throw loops still exist, Alex’s wakeup game is still weak and the characters that he struggled to fight in neutral, he still struggles to fight them.
Been doing some testing. Lariat->St.MP->L chop does 190 damage/360 stun, Lariat->st. MP->VT->sledgehammer->backdrop does 315 damage/560 stun. Crush Counter!Lariat->Lariat->St. MP ->L Chop does 265 damage/500 stun, and CC!Lariat->Lariat->St. MP->VT->St. HP-> sledgehammer->backdrop does 366 damage/660 stun. All of those work anywhere on screen. …Not bad.
wtf. Played an Alex and got beat by his anti-air jab on both jump fierce and jump roundhouse. Thought that shit was nerfed.

Counter hit standing MP sometimes causes the follow up mp to whiff, you need can’t do max distance counter hit medium->medium->chop

I think CC Lariat -> HP -> VTX -> HP -> Sledgehammer ->MP chop is the better v trigger combo than using backdrop. Marginally less damage but leaves you in a pretty great position to mix them up

I played one game and then realised how useless that buff to make f.hp > st.mp a legit string is. If you’re ever hitting f.hp it’s highly highly like you’re getting a CC. Sure it’s very useful for those stray hits in neutral if you’re brave enough to press it randomly, but I get flashbacks to Deejay in SF4 where Capcom just didn’t understand what the character needed whatsofuckingever and never listened to feedback. Right now instead of “Pick Mika instead” it’s just shifted to Laura, all we have are pokes…in which case play someone else.
If you’re sticking with him be highly prepared to be bottom fourth of the roster for multiple seasons.
f.hp buff was great but the dumb thing was slowing it and mp down
Great we can comb more but it takes a bazillion years to actually get the lariat out
