I just turned off my Xbox to watch the nba finals. Turned it back on to try it. Shit legit works. This has serious potential. Far standing fierce whiffs after cl.mk is blocked unless timed right, so you gotta be careful. Vs ryu at least.
Edit: just tried vs yun. unless I’m doing it wrong the timing to hit far fierce after counter cl.mk makes far fierce miss if cl.mk is blocked. DAM might be very character specific or else very risky.
Day 2 and already Akuma’s turned into a true hard hitting, counter hit fishing monster!
These counter hit setups and especially the crouch tech frackers are like… Cody/Cammy level!
Wasn’t it oni’s mk tatsu, since that thing can Level 2 FA crumple directly anyway? I knew this principle already because of our hk tatsu FADC Cs.hp link on crouchers, but never imagined the frame advantage would be THAT much increased. Cs.mk frame fraps are going to hurt.
I don’t think you’re supposed to press anything if the cs.mk gets blocked anyway. It’s -2. However, since it’s the single best corpse push in our arsenal, the blocking opponent can’t really do anything afterwards. But pressing anything after -2 FA is still very risky.
Great thing about this CH setup though is that it gives you AGES to react to the counter hit and press your followup combo.
Fs. Fierce whiffs on some crouching characters on counterhit such as Ryu, Ken and Rose. However if you react to counter hit with fs. fierce there shouldn’t be an issue. It’s much like counter hitting with s.mp into sweep and since the frame advantage is so much you don’t have to react as fast as say CH cr.mp, fs.rh.
True to Nu Skoool and Rikoudo, but forbidden technique said cl. mk , far fierce x hadou is a dangerous block string. It may be vs a handful of characters, but vs others the fierce will whiff. Being able to universally confirm whether the cl. mk is blocked and then far fierce x hadou if it is would’ve been bananas.
For the other characters, just hit confirming c. mk’s counter hit will suffice.
What’s the best method to u2 out of cr.mk and cl.mk?
Shout outs to shabrout and nu skoool for the ub,df,ub method that works great for far fierce and close fierce but it’s not working well for medium attacks at all
I do all my cancel U2 with this single method. And it work wonders, after you put the work needed. I find very efficient to use a single method, a single input motion that don’t ask for left and right hand simultaneous work, and works no matter your screen position. I prefer this over other method that depends on the normal, or orientation for back/forward input in the motion.
But ! people gotta keep what they “feel” better, so do your training room stuff and find yourself
Just like Guile doing stand HP FlashKick. Nothing magical, just learn to do it, and you’ll do it at will.
cl.Med Attack, ub/uf, df, ub/uf, 2xKKK works clean. just as with cl.HP and far HP.
cl.Mk have a later cancel window than usual medium while cl.MP have a earlier cancel window. If you use cr. medium cancel window as a standard. So this may be an issue at first.
can you confirm this :
Raw Red focus : 2 bars, crumple only lvl 2 on hit ? what about CH ?
normal cancel REd focus, 3 bars crumple on lvl1 on hit ? even from whiffed normals right ?
Yea the crumple on lvl 1 is only if you cancel into it or counter hit. Normal red focus works the same way as regular focus, but just absorbs a ton of hits.
Also a shenanagan that is really good with EX Red fireball if your opponent doesn’t know to look for it.
c.LP > c.LP > s.MK > EX Red Fireball
Here’s how it is. In the middle of this whole string untill the EX Fireball a normal can’t be pressed. If s.MK counter hits the fireball combos. Now they can press a button in the middle of the s.MK and fireball start up, but it is not easy to do without mashing. It all comes out so fast that it is hard to react to. If you get through the string and they are still blocking, the s.MK’s forward movement puts you right in their face with massive frame advantage. You are close enough to start another block string.
Works best in the corner. In fact you can just do s.MK > EX Red Fireball in the corner till you run out of meter. lol
Still trying to find a decent way to do his U2 using a Hitbox style controller. I’m not using a stick, and that’s one of the most difficult inputs for me. I can do it off a standing fierce and cs. forward, but I basically have to buffer/mash a shoryu, then upx2. The Hitbox is essentially like playing with a super precise keyboard for directionals.
You can use motions we can’t on stick. Because “neutral” for you is piece of cake you can simplify the motion a lot.
Play around with normal cancel to tp with some up inputs to find one that suits you. Add neutral then “some up” + KKK and you’re done.
something like finger on back then fast down, up to register “b, db, ub” KKK
that’s all for the cancel tp
then hands off : “neutral” or if you kept a finger on back the whole time, release other fingers to re register a "back"
add a up KKK and done.
Because I like diagonal inputs but it will work with a single sided inputs too : from db to ub motion.
I have a testing method that will help you. Shoutouts to LoyalSol for this godlike method!
Record dummy Akuma to do cr.MP and immediately hold up. Play it back and block the cr.MP and then hold up yourself. If done correctly you will see Akuma jump first, this is because of the frame advantage cr.mp produces i.e. +2.
Now using your findings from cr.MP as a reference and using the same testing procedure, replace cr.MP with cs.MK and you will find your answer. I have done it myself and it appears the frame data on cs.MK on a crouching blocking opponent remains the same.
ha, lucky for you I play hit box it’s actually pretty easy it turns out.
For the fierce into ultra 2
First learn the timing for special cancelling s.HP and Teleport. That’s the time you have to put the overall input so you fingers are gonna have to move pretty fast I ain’t gonna lie.
Once you get that first part down,
When you do the heavy punch and teleport cancel down, when you hit the teleport motion hit up at the same time.
So you are hitting one heavy punch then the motion for the DP, then all 3 punches and the up button
The look and timing should feel the same as the original motion But you just tigerkneed the input.
Once you get comfortable with that just hit up and 3 kicks. And then boom. Ultra 2.
Use the same method for the medium buttons just know you must put in the input much faster due to the low amount of hit stun.
Hope this helps. ^_^.
As for the Cs.MK guys, I’m working on a list and I’m just gonna record a short video about it. I test elena, yun and blanka and the string connects. However if you do it about a frame late, Fs.HP it will whiff, I will admit that. I plan on making a tutorial on how to do it and which combos to use afterword Hopefully I can have it done by this weekend.
-Edit-
Also I’m working on so Fs.HP demon flip shenanigan’s… They are CHEAP LOL. But I got to test a lot of situations so before I post all the info I’ll just say this.
I haven’t tested how safe they are. I can imagine Most uppercut characters are going to have their issues however others that have to use a normal are not going to be too happy.
Fs.HP xx MK demon flip causes a three mix-up on Ryu. (haven’t tested it on others). Demon flip dive kick lands in front, Demon Flip Palm lands in back and you are in position to get a demon flip throw. It works well in the position I was testing my Cs.MK into s.HP string. The throw may whiff if too close I believe.
Fs.HP xx LK demon flip palm can work for a empty low mix-up and a throw mix-up HOWEVER I’m testing the Air fireball mix-up and if you get it low enough its a REALLY freaking strong strong bait. I am well able to walk forward long enough and get a Cl.HP. (I haven’t tried St.HK). The thing is that I’m not sure if their is a height restriction or if the timing is really tight. I got it off once or twice so it may be possible but its a bitch to pull off.
Fs.HP xx HK demon flip palm causes all options to go behind the opponent however as we know people love to try to throw us out of the left and right mixup however Fs.HK demon flip kick/palm will cause the throw to whiff. ;D.
So I have been testing a lot so to finish up my person project my take a while but I’ll keep you guys posted as always.
Yus. Smug calls me a weirdo T-T. He actually doesn’t even know my name he just knows me as the weirdest player ever that plays the weirdest controller ever that plays one of the most complex characters ever. Still doesn’t stop him from bopping me though. He knows the match-up way better than me. >_<"
