Hi guys I’m new here, been learning to use Gouki for awhile, anyway I was wondering if its possible for someone to recover in time from this to escape Gouki’s Ultra1:
Light tatsu> cr.lpreset> U1
I did this in training room, Ryu was in mid air when i did the ultra.
@ ClxJamesI know, this was an old vid. When I was still kinda used to vanilla
@Kenneath, it’s possible to do if the other player does nothing, but the other player has an ounce of a brain, it can be jumped, punched, kicked etc out of, so don’t do it.
No, because if someone jumps in and you ultra, you catch them in their landing frames (they have four landing frames where they can’t jump again). This is assuming they didn’t press any buttons while in the air. If they didn’t press anything and just empty jumped, they still can’t jump the first four landing frames, BUT they can do any attack (like a shoryuken that beats your ultra). After a reset (the thing with ryu somersaulting) they can jump immediately upon landing, or do an invincible attack. That’s the difference between a reset and a jump.
Didn’t you think that akuma would be completely broken and banned from every tournament if he had a brain dead easy setup into a 510 damage ultra like that? =)
j.hp > s.hp xx hado FADC s.hp xx tatsu > c.lp > ultra would kill half the cast in one combo, heheh!
Lol Okay that makes sense, by the way, I hope you guys don’t get this a lot, how do you make a Gouki player better? I’m playing with a game pad and at the arcade, so transitioning moves can be a bit harsh. Even with using The Vortex, I think my pace is too slow. Any advice? Will be getting Stick though hopefully soon.
If you’re also playing at the arcade then by any means, get a stick as soon as possible.
Other than that, Akuma happens to be one of the most difficult characters to master in the game, but at least execution wise he’s kinda easy…Just practice his bnbs a lot in training mode and you’ll get them in no time. Start with easier stuff like c.lk > c.lp > c.lp hit confirm into lk tatsu and after a few months when you got more used to the game speed and everything start hit confirming with c.lp > s.hp
What’s a good way to deal with opponents just beyond sweep distance? I find that sticking out pokes gets me countered very easily (ex. Balrog, just about any other character). Need some fresh ideas. Gonna post some recent matches up soon, I’ve improved quite alot.
When you guys buffer demon into sweep what fingers do you use? I know this may be an odd question but I’m having a hard time finding comfortable/functional finger placement. What I’m doing right now is hitting sweep and then hurrying and double tapping jab. It works but I’d like it to be a little bit faster.
Little finger on hk, index finger on lp. I press 'em together twice for sweeps once I have demon. A sweep will come out with two jabs buffered behind it.
If they focus or armour absorb and I’m not asleep at the wheel, I’ll then press back/up back + lk+ hp together using my thumb on the lk and my middle finger on the hp.
This might come across as completely retarded, but it works for me.
Hi guys quick question, during cornered, doing a tatsu escape allowed me to fly 3/4 screen away on SF4 but on AE I only managed to like get super high spin for awhile like in a near stationary position and not move at all. How do I get the same results like the on on SF4 to be on AE?
I usually hit the HK with my ring finger, then I proceed just as you Gam.
The problem is, it’s not comfortable to me at all, I always miss so many chances with FA Demons because I find awkward the way I have to twist my hand to do it - when I go for a sweep I generally hit HK by plinking with MK.
Any special reason why Tokido does random DF dive kicks during matches? I thought it was supposed to be unsafe to do them unless it’s after a knockdown.
