Akuma FAQs: Quick questions & answers!

Best options are block then post block teleport. You can also try to FA dash out of her pressure. You may still take damage but you will escape.

How do you link a ST.F.HK after a FADC? Can it only link after certain cancels? I’ve done it like once, but the timing seems really really tight, feels like a 1 framer.

I’m trying cr.lp cr.mp xx hadu -> fadc st.f.hk …

can never land the st.f.hk

thanks.

it doesnt work after ever FADC cancel…its situational… like against ken if you do cr. jab cr. strong cr forward hadoken fadc st hk it will connect… but if you do cr strong cr strong it wont connect… i have no idea why it works sometimes and not others

Because of the opponent’s hitbox and how late the fireball connects with it. For example Fuerte, he has a completely different reeling animation than anyone else, after getting by a strong and it causes specials to hit meaty.

Yes it’s all about the hitbox position in top body area after you dash. I made some test and a thread about some situation for a lot of char. It’s always connecting from the farest position possible and mainly from cr:mk: xx fireball ender. It don’t work at all it seems on chars where you can’t connect the fireball from a far cr:mk: like saga abel if I remember correctly.

that’s Clp > Cmp > Cmk > hadoken > fadc > Shk ?
why’ve I never seen anyone do this? is it impractical? does it put you at the far distance after roundhouse meaning you can’t do anything really nice after?

probably because this is 2 wasted bars for the damage you get after the fadc. No point going for a f.HK combo if you where close enough to do the hit confirm. Just go for the high damage bnb.
The only good moment is from a raw cr:mk: xx fireball at the right distance, if you want to mix a bit your combos, this f.HK is a beautiful one for average damage.

its not hard to pull off… i just think its risky to try s. hk combos during a match… after the roundhouse you can combo cr short to light tatsu to srk

i was rushing to do this just now and forgot to let the stun reset to 0 each time…but you can still get an idea of damage and stun

just like Shabrout said. pretty sure u can do more damage than that with a standard BnB. it’s like how I sometimes see akumas showing off by doing the Cmp > Shp > BnB mid combo… which just adds an extra hit, causing the scaling to overall reduce the damage

this one is actually increasing the damage with cr:mp:, st:hp: … instead of cr:lp:, st:hp: …
You can choose to do it when you are sure it will connect, the :mp: push farther but on wide hitbox chars it’s guaranted.

c.MP s.HP is a max damage combo.

I remember counting the numbers in training mode ages ago
if I did BnB with sHP starter, it was more damage than cMP > sHP as a starter
only time I ever try to do it is if I’m going for sweep or reset

60 + 100 + 70*.8 + 150*.7 = 321

100+ 70 + 150*.8 = 290

c.MP > s.HP does more. The advantage is reduced with additional hits, but it almost always does a little extra.

hei guys, i was trying to master this setup against cammy…

but most of the time i get dodgy result.

1.reversal wins
2.she dashes out.

the timing is so strict compared to sagat that i can’t get it properly in a real match.

is there cues to see so that i can get this setup done perfectly?

I got nice results against her with a DK mk kick late after a mid to max range sweep (might need a hk df then) to make reversal whiff.
Bad point is no meaty, no force stand block, but can bait Cammy to reversal if she react to the DF attempt.

Looks like the setup is a single step forward post sweep. I just use the instant df dive kick. It’s a safe jump and you can throw in an x-up tatsu or empty jump low for mixup.

yea the instant divekick is easier. but some cammy players are just determined to save all their meters to dp fadc to get out of trouble or to gain advantage at times. while the vid i posted is guaranteed 100% dp safe but i just can’t get it work at high success rate :confused:

I dont know those numbers, but I’m gonna have no chance to play til late sunday now. gonna have to see myself again, because I just started to avoid doing cMP as a starter

c.MP = 60 damage
s.HP = 100
LK Tatsu = 50
HP SRK = 150

Damage reduction factored in.

You can go into training mode and confirm it, but those are the numbers. Trust me, I know when I say the c.MP s.HP link is used for a reason because it increases damage.
