After you land Ultra 1 you have several wake-up options i.e. cross up fireball, late LK Dive Kick but I wanted to know are there any viable options after landing Ultra 2?. Ok I’ve asked this before and I’m back again, frustrated as hell, asking again. Can someone please help me understand why I can’t do a jump in crouch tech and actually have it tech a throw? I don’t get a c.lk hit, I don’t tech the throw, I get thrown every single time. To make matters worse my friend plays Gouken so instead of having a great set up I just invite him to ultra me EVERY SINGLE TIME. This works so little for me that when it does connect I’m genuinely excited for what should be the simplest thing on earth. What could I possibly be doing wrong?
I’ve got a friend who just loves to neutral jump in front of me. It’s a bit annoying because I don’t know how to take advantage from that. Let’s say we’re talking about a Sakura doing nj.hk (which is a pretty great move).

srk doesn’t have enough horizontal range - I might get lucky and hit a limb for crappy damage but if it whiffs (b/c the sak did an empty jump) I eat a full combo, risk/reward doesn’t look good
sweep gets counterhitted if done early, and blocked if I done later
demon gets owned by empty jumps
I’ve even tried dash srk but that’s doesn’t look very reliable without having godly reflexes and dashing at the moment sak leaves the ground
same for jumping and hitting her air-to-air on her way down with a hk
focus attack didn’t give any good results either
So what should I do? One of the above but better? Or something else entirely?
I just dont bother against Gouken, the timing is really weird and super late for it to tech Hell you can mash tech and you will still get thrown. I just hate that about online Gouken where you can lose a match because lag rapes your teching ability and you eat a free ultra. Just abuse palm on wakeup, play it safe against him because you are taking the risk of losing half your health with one stupid mistake like that.
Same for me, the first time i heard about this was on the previous page. Loyalsol, Shinakuma204, superlollo, you guys seem like people that would know this.
Was thinking a bit … Has anyone faked out tick throws by using focus after c.lp x 2? I’ve done this without thinking a couple times, I’d release a level 2 crumple during their throw recovery for a full combo. Pretty effective since Akuma steps back pretty far for his focus attack.
I thought tick throws were throws in the middle of combos? Like c.LP, cl.LP, throw. Do you mean to bait out throw techs? If so I doubt it would work often because most people crouch tech and the c.LK would recover in time to block the focus attack.
Other way around. If you go in for throw, crouch tech beats it out and if its a frame trap focus comes out and absorbs the hit. If its a true block string youll stay in defensive crouch.
I just recently learnt the whole frame trap thing. I was wondering from the frame trap, cr.mp>cr.mp can you OS a tatsu on the second one incase a CH occurs?
C.mk is a little awkward to do on pad. Also the recovery on C.HK can mess me up at times as well. Does C.mk lower the hitbox more, finding if my timing isnt on point I can get hit out of C.HK xx Demon. If it’s vital, I can move some buttons around I guess.
c.mk is ALOT better to cancel for anti air demon. When i was playing with pad i used the sweep, but really its only half as good. I also dont like to remap buttons
Maybe but there would be no point because you can link a sweep after a CH c.MP. The potential mix-up after the sweep is worth way more than a little bit extra damage from a tatsu.
I don’t think that would work. You can link cr.mp xx tatsu or sweep on reaction.
The reason it wouldnt work is if your in range for the second cr.mp to connect, it will connect weather the first cr.mp is CH or blocked. So if you OS a tatsu with the second cr.mp it will come out no matter what.
Unless of course I mis interpreted what you meant.
