DO you know when to use akuma j.mk and dive kick i mean like what the reason to mix it up can j.mk whiff over some stuff or what

use j.mk as a crossup like ryu, a good kara demon trap is to hide 2 jabs in the crossup j.mp and then kara demon when you land. Think the j.mk dive kick is totally underated i use this move alot as a couter poke works well on shotos cause often times while playing footsies you get them to stick out some low pokes, sometimes i will jump instead of participating in the footsies to see if i can get in with a late air fb, but if i see that they stuck out a poke i cancel the jump immediately into j.mk dive kick then combo with close standing forward and then feirce SRK, or close standing forward, mk tatsu fierce srk on wide characters like chun.

I think the dive kick is best used for safely closing in. If you are far, unless your opponent as a high priority/huge hit box anti air, you can close in safely, and be at point blank range. I’d say the majority of my dive kicks aren’t used to hit my opponent.

If an opponent is in the air and your able to hit air tatsumaki, you can actually combo tatsumaki, SRK, SA1 after that as well.

More I see of him, the more I like him. He’s like a great balance between Yuki and Match. However Uraken’s rushdown style I haven’t seen any other player do anything similar. Maybe Junin - but he’s nowhere near the best players in Japan. The guy does wakeup dragons :wtf: Thats for players like ME!!! When I see a Jap do a wakeup dragon I think SCRUB!!!

The Japanese Akuma players never even get knocked down. :wgrin:

I’ve been watching some of the UCLA random battles on YouTube. I noticed JR will occasionally cancel a Demon off a whiffed Shakunetsu Hadouken (63214 +P) as the opponent is waking up in the corner. Is there any particular reason for intentionally whiffing the fireball? I mean, does it lock them in block animation if they block or something?*

On the off chance they try and parry the fireball, the demon grabs the moment they parry :rock: However if the fireball completely whiffs, then its more of a trick to make them try and block the fireball which they wont so they get grabbed instead.

Its a spur of the moment thing where the appearance of what is happening totally fucks with the opponents head. Its just ultra simple to block the fireball if it does touch you, then simply jump the demon :rofl:

Fuck, I noticed. I don’t think I’d know how to respond to it either if it was just pulled out the ether. It does look hella cool, though. :wink:

haha yeah, he only does it when hes got tons of life left, and the opponent doesn’t. tactically, it does get you out of the recovery of the red fireball sooner i guess
