correct me if I’m wrong, but the input should look something along the lines of cr. LK, cr. LP, QCF, cr.LK, QCF + P.
you’re essentially hiding or sneaking in your QCFs in between attacks, if that helps at all, but the cr. LK, cr. LK hit confirm works on the whole cast, so its preferred.
yeah i know cr.lk, cr.lk is preferred. but I really suck at hit confirms, at times i’m not concentrated so i always pull out the super by simple muscle memory… :S
yeah, me too… practice makes perfect though, and by practice, I mean countless hours in the lab with the CPU on Random Guard, differentiating from when you make a guess and do a super, with actually confirming the fact that you hit, and then doing a super, but I honestly think that learning the cr. LK, cr. LK hit confirm will benefit you in the long run.

that’s what i’ve been doing for the past few years. basically roll from down to down forward during the kicks and buffer forward during the last kick and if it hits just do a fireball.

I know this thread has died down, but I have a quick question. Does MK Tatsu into MP Shoryu work on Dudley? I read in a guide that it does, but I can’t seem to land it. I know it doesn’t work on Hugo, Ibuki, and Oro, but if it doesn’t work on any other characters, can you let me know as well?
It works but it’s probably the hardest char to land this.

Hi SRK community, New here and I am seeking advice how to deal with some of the hard hitters of the 3S cast, looking at Makoto and Hugo. With Akuma’s stun meter and health so low, it’s honestly devastating when being punished, esp. SAII from Makoto. Hugo’s throws eliminates my mix up games and flip pressure because I am not so confident in being able to DF dive kick and land it safe on block then get away as some would mash the 360 throw. Help?
When I used to play against Hugo with Akuma I would play totally different than I would against most of the rest of the cast. I used a ton of footsies(just outside his grab range) and do be weary of his cr mk as it has pretty good reach. Learning to dash up kara throw and really good spacing used to help me a lot with this match and remember at 3/4 screen or more he can parry some of your FBs but no one you play can parry all of them all the time. Makoto… This match is a rough one for a lot of the cast if the Mak player is good. I always would win big or lose big in this one. It always felt like we were both trying to mixup and corner the other giving as little breathing room as possible. I have no advice on this one as I would usually play it on the fly and try to be as unpredictable as possible and attempt at not getting touched by that damn karakusa. I usually switched to ryu for this match. I need to start playing this game again, I miss it. Fuck it, I’m gonna go get it on XBL now. Is there much of a playerbase on there for this still?
Yeah pretty much against Hugo you gotta gay it out. Play as cheap as possible. Don’t stand within range of 360’s ever. Abuse demon flip throw and cross up tatsu for easy damage. As far people mashing 360 after your DF dive kick, imo the better option to start is after the dive kick instantly jump back rh. It beats any grab, and even if he does backbreaker, its less damage than the 360 would have been. Or you can do f+mp and no throw will hurt you.

Hope it helps. Gouki is a very unforgiving character to use when you are starting out since you’ll naturally be getting hit a lot, but its worth the work!

yea, she does that to almost everyone. Maybe not Q or Hugo but most of the cast
No positioning required, any sa2 with double fuki ender is stun and if it hits in any way round should be over (akuma does poke demon flip, mak reacts to df with rh abare done, late jump back fb abare over done, etc)

Q, Hugo, Alex, Dudley, Oro. I almost want to throw Chun in there too because it seems impossible to 100% stun her off SA2 without a reset.
Gouki loses to almost everyone if you make 1 wrong guess anyways.
Not sure if this has been posted or not but I found an interesting ambiguous crossup with gouki. If you do lk tatsu then reset with st lp (cant be crouch lp), it sets you up for a crossup jhk. Yes jhk lol… Take a tiny step back though or do the jhk slightly early and you wont crossup. What’s even cooler is that a tiny step back and it sets you up for a max range uoh confirm or low foward fireball confirm. Pretty insane tbh.
Also if you reset with st hp instead, then one tiny step forward puts you in posistion for max range uoh and low forward fireball confirms.
