Without quick recovery, Dudley is the fastest.
With quick recovery, it’s Yang and Yun, followed by Makoto…

Wow, I was completely off. My bad.

Edit: I noticed that tutorial vid had a dive kick Demon setup. I’ve never seen this done in a match video. Is this just a bad idea? If it is, is it at least viable at the casual level? I love burning my meter on Demons.

Empty flip xxx demon
Nice setup in my opinion between pokes and classic flip rushes…
There was a topic here on this but i didn’t find it after a (too) quick search…

It’s actually kind of difficult, but a good setup. About as reliable as most setups.

Which setup? I can do the regular jump, dive kick demon one just fine. I’m still working on the consistently empty flipping. Thanks in advance.

So, I’m not sure but, I think I found solid method to doing a kara demon.
I’ve watched all of the kara demon videos I could find and this method only took me like 10 minutes to get to make work, what I’m asking is if anyone else does this and if you don’t, try it.

I hover above the buttons then slide my fingers very hard across and off of the corner of, mp, lp and then lp again, and the last two I just tap… I found it to be the easiest and fastest method to get the kara to work.

Is the normal method different, Ive only seen videos of people tapping the buttons swiftly, if anyone wants to see what i’m talking about I can make a video after work.

I apologize if someone already mentioned something like this, I’m at work so I didn’t have a lot of time to read.

Sorry. I think I was talking about the empty flip into demon.

@-=KOH=-

I’ll give your method a shot. What kind of stick are you using? Sounds difficult on American buttons.

HarmoNaz pulled it on CIV at one point or another. It’s on YouTube I think. And I’d be interested in that vid, -=KOH=-.

You get varying frame advantage based on how high you hit them. A good rule of thumb is below their waist and you can continue into a fierce or close mk. If it’s above their waist, the only things that will combo are moves with fast startup like a srk or tatsu (mk or hk).

Edit: close mk has faster startup than close fierce, so its easier to combo from a dive kick into close mk than fierce.

They both have 4 frame startup, unless this is wrong http://tinyurl.com/5w3gt7

Maybe the hitbox is higher on fierce or something, but in practice I’ve found it much easier to combo off cl.mk than fierce.

how do i get the dp off of mk / hk spin kicks?

Well, off the hk tatsu it requires a bit of a weird setup, and a quick dash up shoryu. It’s at the end of this video.

Off of a mk tatsu, its just strict timing, and fierce shoryu doesn’t even work on most characters.

so MP shoryu off of the mk spinkick?

edit: that videos’ nice too.

If you click the link from bo1ng’s post above, it has which characters fierce shoryu works on, and which characters mp shoryu works on after mk tatsu. You can also do rh tatsu after mk tatsu on every character mp shoryu works on.

alright, thanks… i need to work on some of my akuma stuff… much appreciated.

How to beat Aegis Urien? Im having serious troubles. Mixing hurricane is a common trick, and a problem cause nevermind you hit once or twice and can juggle a bit, they eventually catch you and put you out of your misery with a throw + corner + reflector or similar. No matter what, I end up juggle cornered and get Aegis to my face, usually in mid-air.

I seriously dont see why some thought coupple pages ago that Urien matchups are even, or even in favor of Akuma - Im quite fresh player with Gouki, but still… Uriens juggle is devastating and when u combine that with Goukis low stamina, lots of lube is needed.

The point is not how to get hits to U. The point is how to get enough hits. Also noticed that SAIII works much better for me in this matchup just for the sake of damage. I get very few openings fm a good Urien, and SAIII helps me to get some more damage in. But then again, Im a noob, which may very well be the answer to all of my questions.

Also, why FAQs n stuff always state that Teleport is 3 punches/kicks, while it works fine with 2 punches/kicks both with Cabinet and PS2?

A couple of things.

First off use SA1. While you might think the other supers could be more useful, when you get down to it and learn the fight you will understand SA1 is better.

Two, be ready to throw break. Easier said than done, but a well timed throw break on Urien can swing the match in your favor. Urien likes to throw, so generally he is going to attempt one in tight.

Three, watch some vids of top Akumas versus Urien. Naz has a good match for the SBO qualifiers against France. Watch how he goes after Urien.

Don’t forget to mix your hurricanes with throws. Many Urien’s are waiting for the harricane leaving them open for a throw.

Is it ever possible to combo after a crossup air tatsu?
