Akuma Combos, Strategies, and Match-ups!

UOH too.
Kara dragon(and maybe kara Tatsu?) with forward + Mp is possible with a programmable stick…

it seems like kara UOH is near impossible to. You can’t be pressing forward while doing the UOH command.

kara UOH goes as follows (according to what I think since I can do it at times):

hold forward and do UOH
f+mp comes out
bring stick to neutral within the 'kara frames’
it becomes UOH

So you basically hold forward, press UOH and bring to neutral almost instantly

BTW, who else does akuma have an advantage against except dudley?

Why Dudley is disavantaged against Akuma?

People actually kara demon like this?

I think that what Akuma has in tools that work well against Dudley, Dudley makes up for in the sheer stun he puts on Akuma when he hits him. Akuma also has a bit of an advantage against Urien.

cross up:mk->l.tatsu->lp->dash(works only on some people)
I think Dudley is a pain because the move that inlude one punch ie ther’s a move when he dashes back and does a punch moving forward(something like that)
is realy hard to avoid since most Akumas’ BnBs start off with c.mk/near.mk
hope that made sense
most of the info i’m givin in forums are just here already, i mean who cares about Copyright?

just what d.jr said.

BTW, can u repeat that combo? Cause i remember seeing a video where akuma keeps on doing dash lp, dash lp…

You can repeat it (dash, LP) if your opponnent is stunned…

alright, thanks.

Anything else?

Akuma has an advantage on Urien, because Urien has very little response to Akuma’s corner pressure, particularly hurricane kicks, allowing you to throw them into your mixup without much fear. Although if you get predictable and do it all the time, it’d still be a problem (like anything else). I wouldn’t worry too much about red parrying as you can mix up medium and roundhouse hurricane to throw them off.

Another point is that if Urien throws an Aegis Reflector on Akuma, he can just teleport out of it and laugh at Urien.

But if something goes wrong, Urien can mess you up badly for one mistake, so it’s not like it’s an easy fight. But the advantage definitely goes to Akuma for that one.

Like what Malik_g said, i have reay hard times doing Double buttons, instead of telporting i do Dragon punch by accident somtimes going into aegis. it’s more safe to throw him first(if u can) then dash/teleport away

If the mirror is already on top of you in the corner then you cant grab him out of it. You can grab him out of it say after one parry if he is close buy and doesnt stuff you with an attack.

I think the Urien matchup is pretty even. Most of the cast has a hard time dealing with Akuma’s quick startup moves, but Urien’s shoulder juggles can be big damage. That and teleporting out of aegis doesn’t always leave you unscathed. Lastly, Urien has some long range pokes that make footsies a little difficult.

Uraken got perfected in co-op cup 4 by a Urien.

Teleporting out of aegis is nowhere near as easy as people think. Out of unblockables is even harder (I’ve only managed it 2 or 3 times out of the countless times I’ve been caught in one).

Yeah, but it’s not that hard either. Gouki has a slight upper hand over urien because his keepaway is really annoying to Urien and he has the tatsus of doom against Urien. Plus, you can “avoid” Urien’s best asset. The counterpart being that if he catches you, it’s over.

So do you zone and try to stay away from Urien? Maybe I am just rushing down way too much

Isnt it the same timing for both? (reversal timing)

I alternate between playing keep away fireballs and rushdown on urien. Spam hurricanes but not too often. Start the hurricane spam with st.MP as it beats his headbuts. Alternate that with cr.lk into hurricane and the rest of the basics (kara grabs and OH). I Never go to him when he is in the corner, since he obviously wants the grab and the corner set up. During keep away as done by some of the best akumas, bait a jump in by straight jump hadou, and when he jumps in throw an SA1. Dont play too much footsies, keep it random.
Watch out for his dash ins, random crush into mirror/headbut and his AA fireballs. One AA fireball = at least 70% of akuma’s life.

Yeah, that’s what I thought… and the timing is pretty easy IMO. Though I’ve never played an Urien competent enough to put me in kneedrop unblockables when I play Akuma (I wouldn’t play Akuma against someone that good), but I can reversal teleport out of anything… except maybe online.
