what strength kicks are used to make a demon flip crossup kick on alex? does cl.hp xx demonflip and c.mk xx demonflip requires different kicks to crossup?
second, is there any url where I can find how to crosup tech-rollers?, on some you need just to walk, on others you need to dash once, and on some other characters 2 dashes are needed
about hk.tatsus an alex, I think u can tech only if alex grabs you too late, Im sure if he grabs right away you are unable to tech, and he can also mk xx ex flash chop after hk.tatsu
Alex gets free grab on blocked tatsu unless you got VERY lucky and the hurricanes hit from max range.
For the demon flip crossups - best advice is go into training mode and play around with it. The reason is that there is no fixed answer - your opponent will not simply stand still in one place - so you have to see what they do and judge which flips to use and when to press kick.
That is one thing I also need to work on…
I was playing around with it in training mode once before… ofcourse, depending on the move you knocked your opponent down with (different recovery) its different…
I do it in urien for sure: after a BnB with him in the corner, or after throwin him into the corner, dash twice (different timing for both though) and you should cross him up… pretty sure that is the same for alex too… but i need to know more people you can cross up, and info on that would be very helpful
I’m trying to learn Akuma’s SGGK, not the RD one, but the one that goes d, mk~lp+lk, super. I figure I would start on this one since it seems easier and I’m just focusing on the basic concept and timing. At this point I’m not worried about landing super, I’m basically looking to option select throw, or parry then knee to the face. My problem is that whenever I parry, I still get the throw. My impression is that you mk~lp+lk regardless of whether or not I get the parry. Am I supposed to confirm the parry? Or am I canceling the mk too quickly? Thanks in advance for any help I can get!
Right, but I think don’t think I’m getting what I’m supposed to be getting. After the parry I think I’m supposed to get the close mk. But when I try it, I still get a throw.
roll from mk to lp/lk faster… and go to neutral for a brief moment after the parry to prolong the parry window… that would be my guess… never tried that sggk but thats what I do for demon sggk anyways
Wow thanks. I bet it’s a timing issue because I didn’t know I had to take that into account. I’ll have to pay more attention to that. Also, how do you guys practice this? I just go into parry training and set the dummy to throw meaty sweep.
edit: Yeah, it was definitely a timing issue. Now I have to tighten my timing a bit. Now that I’m entering the kara throw when the parry freeze is/would be, I’m getting first part of the SGGK. Now I gotta tighten the delay because I feel like I’m leaving my opponents room for random poke or throw.
Tonight I got a good 25+ games against JRod (a lesson in humility ) and I made a couple discoveries on accident.
First off, I think I found a way to more safely use anti air sa1 against Ken. Usually I’m afraid of getting baited, and crossed up by ex tatsu, but tonight I threw a jab fireball into an sa1, and I switched directions for the sa1. I’m going to have to test it, but I was pretty surprised.
Second, and less promising, I had a deep flip kick beat a demon. This was confusing to me, because I assumed you’d be invincible to all moves. I can’t imagine the demon was too early, because JR has pretty solid execution on the AA demon. Any idea why this would have beat it?
YOU STOPPED THE AA DEMON BECAUSE YOU DID THE DEMON FLIP SUPER DEEP…:amazed: AND I DID DO IT A LITTLE SOONER BECAUSE I THOUGHT YOU WERE JUST GOING TO DO THE DEMON FLIP SLIDE…:arazz: IT WAS COOL PLAYING YOU, LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU’RE GOING TO GO AGAIN:tup:
What are your opinions on meter management? When I play, I tend to save up meter until I have two stocks. It’s not that I won’t try for super at all, I just tend to rely on his non super combos for damage (for at least the first round). But I also have a tendency to wait until I can use RD or KKZ. I keep seeing people post about using super more, but I’m just wondering when do you decided to save up for RD or KKZ versus when you want to try to create openings for SAI. Thanks in advance.
