i would do a BB tourney… i’m prolly no good compared to top flight players (i have no idea what experience BB/GG players play like) but i’d still be down for this… you say it’s on Arcade… that’s cool… how’re we sposta sign up?.. do we register on the spot at EVO?..

if we do it 3v3 imma need a 3rd for my team… we got me Noel/Litchie and a Jin+ player all lined up… a round cadidate would be an arkune player or maybe ragna (rawgna)… or even a Nu…

Hey so evo is in like, 2 weeks, can i get information about the tourney? At this point, it better NOT be an evo official tourney because I haven’t signed up for Evo, and tacking it on 2 weeks before the event would be pretty BS imo.

But yeah, can we get info of any sort please?

yeah it won’t be an “official” evo tourney, this way anyone that ONLY wants to play in the BB tourney don’t need to worry about paying the main event fees. though, I do ask anyone going to support EVO. Considering without EVO, none of this would be able to go down. Some basic details for now as I’m still working it out with some of the community members that will be helping out with the Official Aksys / ARC side BB Tourney.

I think we’re gonna do a regular tourney, teams, and maybe even a 5 on 5 invitational. We’re gonna try to have about 4 to 6 setups within the BYOC area and its going to be a all PS3 tourney, so get your PS3 sticks ready folks. As for prizing, I’ll have more info on that after the holiday.

i’ll post again after I get more info after the 4th of July weekend.

Two major questions:

  1. Will teams be 2v2 or 3v3?
  2. Will same character teams be allowed?

Also, I’m looking for teammate(s) who are confident in the mastery of their character (preferably with tournament results to prove it. I’m not looking for people who just started with the console version.)

And will it be American style or JP style?
As in, will it be “player A goes until he loses, and then player B goes” or “player A goes against the other team’s player A, win or lose, they both switch, and if opposite teams had winning players, those two play each other”?

Japanese style please. 3v3 random teammates for the win. Best format for learning.

I’d expect way more than 50 people. The unofficial GG tourney last year had no sponsor and had like what, 80? BB is catching on pretty well now, and if GG can do that well, I’d imagine more like 100-150…possibly more than that, the 2D scenes are going to overlap for a little while before people really decide if they like BB or not also ;p

japanese style 3v3 is pokemon style. you play until you die.

japanese style 2v2 is waseda and you play and your teammate plays until both of you have won or lost.

Still hyped to watch this, I personally suck at doing the combos since it’s so new to me but it is damn cool to watch, and now I actually understand what is going on during the fight lol. Good luck to all of you guys this should be awesome.

We’re most likely going with where Player A keeps going until Player A is beaten and then Player B comes up to fight whoever is left from the other team. Official announcement tomorrow, start fighting our your teams

Yo guys, I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I’m running this tourney along side with Aksys and you should be expecting some really dope ass shit. Everything that has been stated so far is all just speculation and isn’t finalized at all such as the teams tourney being 2v2 because after speaking with numerous people it seems that 3v3 with same chars on team would be good due to the limited amount of chars in the game. Cutting to the chase though, we will have something finalized and posted tonight.
