Sorry if this may be off topic, but does anyone know how do U.S. customs taxes work? Do they charge you when it gets delivered to your place or something like that. O yea, is there a way to bypass customs holding your item or checking it out by marking the package as a gift or something like that?
Customs only taxes high valued items (from what I’ve heard over $500). So the only time you would get charged is if you declare the value of the contents to be over $500 OR your package gets checked and they find that the value of your contents is over $500 (even if you didn’t mark it as such).
There is obviously no way of marking the package to bypass customs because then obviously everyone would do it…That’s just common sense. If that were possible then everyone would send things marked as “gift” including very illegal goods.

Thanks Paik for clarifying that for me. Yea i suspected that theres no real way to bypass customs, i just remember reading someone saying they could mark the package as a gift so that customs wouldnt look at it. 
Hi, thinking of putting in a decently sized order soon, but just want to clarify something before I do.
I have a Sanwa JLW-TM-8 already that I got from a local distributor, I’ve been trying to find out information about it and there appears to be some opinion that it’s not as good as the JLF series, is this true? I was planning on simply replacing the balltop on it, however if the JLF series is better, due to the microswitches / assembly etc… (I know the throw etc… stats are supposed to be the same) I might consider replacing it as well.

i didn’t think about this until today, but do they sell the metal panels w/ the button layout @ akihabara? i’m beginning to hate buying generic joysticks with plastic cases and replacing them with sanwa parts… I’d like to take a shot at making a wood case (they feel a ton sturdier) based on byrdo’s dimensions but using a panel for the stick/button layout in the front instead. i do not have the necessary tools to drill holes so i was thinking about getting a panel like the ones in jamma machines and trimming it from there.

Depends what you mean by better. You should test the JLF, very nice joystick. The best bit about the JLW is that you can put a round restrictor on it, feel sso nice :).

I will answer it tomorrow, I am a little sick right now. By metalplate do you mean any specific plate? Sanwa and Seimitsu manufacturers panels for the coin-op machines if that is what you want? I will put in naked panels (without joysticks/buttons) in the shop soon also.
