Akatsuki Blitzkampf: The Dream Is Dead

It’s neither. Maybe you didn’t notice how I tried bumping this thread as well as the other Blitz thread a while back. Maybe you didn’t see the games recorded at Evo or the tutorials made by myself and others. I’ve played Blitz long before most of the people in this thread and tried to support it more than a lot of others here, but nobody talks about the game anymore compared to the other doujin titles. I never said it was a bad game at all. The game barely gets any rep in Japanese arcades, the board is sold at bargain bin prices on import websites, and the developer hasn’t said anything regarding a console version at all. As far as netplay goes, if a game is dead on netplay it isn’t going to be getting any burn IRL either.

Everyone has moved on to other games suitable for introducing newbies to fighting games, such as SF4 and BB. If you want to introduce someone new to the genre, do them a favor and point them to a game with a scene that’s either large or dedicated, not one that lacks both qualities. I loved Blitz but its time has passed. It might get a random revival here and there, but aside from that have fun trying to find people to play it and stick with the game for more than a month or two because there’s not enough complexity to the game to keep players hungry and not enough players to keep people attracted.

Hey Chibi (Master Baldie), did Santa give u some hair for X-Mas? If he didn’t then…

Edit: Cuz saying it twice iz better.

HAPPY HOLIDAYZ!!! :looney:

Arguing is just needlessly kicking up dirt for no reason.

If you want to try to get people to play then go ahead, no one’s stopping anyone. If you want to prove that people play then post some new videos or replays. Promoting the game would do more good than arguing and trying to defend it.

Arguing whether people play or not holds zero water since you could also say people play Big Bang Beat or MKV.

I’m bald by choice you idiot.

Shit are you ever stupid.

I see why u keep it bald.

But seriously, just like in my tournament thread…and now, I didn’t say shit to you. And here u go comin in here running your mouth towards me. Drama, Drama, Drama.

But this time, I’m going to just say whatevs. I don’t have the desire to go back n forth with u on a forum.

When I said “haters”, I didn’t mean that towards anyone specificly in here or whatever (since I too am aware of what bell has done for this game and it’s scene). I simply meant that towards the people who don’t wanna play Akatsuki for ________ reason and that would persuade someone else not to play it too, when they KNOW they’re interested. That’s kinda LAME IMO.

But, oh well…I guess. :looney:

Well, with Naomi emulation comming together, maybe when they dump the arcade version and with a online mode…

But a GREAT maybe that will revive a little the scene.

lol

Noone I’ve come across in the little AB community we had going ever kept someone from playing it. The community was far too small to warrant such a thing. People simply lost interest.

I would still love to play Perfecti though.

I’m still accepting EC netplay challenges on that one server with all the anime games :nunchuck:

I still have my Ausf Ausche cart, and there may be access to a public location with naomi machine soon in baltimore, md
make that trek if it happens!

Oh I will, don’t you worry about that.

;3

Please tell me Blitztank is a good character.

I will drop out of school and become a top class professional at this game if that is the case. Holy shit he’s a fucking tank.

Fritztank

i miss this game

and my random, scrubby, footsieless sai :frowning:

ps: in his memory (b3)b

party on, guy. party on.

Do people still play this?

Did you read the fucking thread?

Wish people played here.

I’ve gotten a few people to play this and they definitely liked it. It’s a small download, just get some people together and play it. It’s really easy to get into, which may be why people seem to stop playing just as quick.

Would be awesome if they ported it.

I’d love to get back into this game if I could get another PlayStation 2 to USB connector for my pad. This is probably one of my favorite 2-D fighters ever.

this games boring
