Depends on the character. Duck is very well-rounded and can function in the air, water, or ground, but doesn’t really excel in either. Makes a good noob-friendly character, but don’t turn into a flow-chart Duck. Duc Do has some sick Duck game in casuals, but you normally only see them in Japanese tournies. Fails hard against cracker spammers (Parrot).
Woodpecker is great once you learn his bread and butter combo: HP (High peck), HP, HP, HP, HP, HP, HP.
Also, EX Peck is like EX Messiah Kick and Captain Commando Anti-Air assist combined. Perfectly safe on wake-up and leads to some nasty mix-ups that usually end in that Happy Feet infinite.
I stick with Runner Duck. I know he’s just a joke version of Duck, made to poke fun at that other company ripping of Air Fighter 2 in their King of Fowl series, but he’s just so much fun to play.

A new character revealed. It appears to be a clone of Bald eagle but looks more fun. I hope that it ends up being Bald eagles true rival.
I don’t get why everyone cries about the secret guest Air Fighter, bat. I know, I know, it’s a boss character, you can only unlock it with certain requirements, and it’s out of place with the rest of the Bird Strike cast, but it provides a totally different playstyle with tons of options and all kinds of crazy stealth shenanigans, while still being balanced cause it’s delicate and can’t do shit for damage without a lot of setups.
I guess people just don’t like to think outside the beak.

I think the Peregrine Falcon is pretty underrated, almost no one been talking about him the whole thread. He’s the fastest character in the game, and can really take it to Hawk, turtling ass Dove and can even stick it to Bald Eagle. He has crazy rush down, decent health, lots of options, and the swoop is unmatched. He’s at least top tier
