Yea, KSK made some major misplays. He never even tried to counterpoke the fireballs with s.MP, c.MK, s.HP, etc. He could have crushed her mixups with s.HP. He jumped way too much. He failed to confirm and combo off of the claps and crossup splash he landed that match. He could have won that match.

Juri is going to be a bad matchup no doubt, but Hugo definitely has some wiggle room to counterpoke the fireballs. One successful c.MK could turn everything around. Technically if you’re being patient enough, LK Fireball is literally the only one that can even hit you.

Does anyone know how c.HK interacts with moves that aren’t supposed to hit crouchers? In theorycraft land c.HK is crouching so it should go through MK fireball while hopping over LK fireball.

That’d be pretty sweet and hilarious.

Theorycraftland scares the piss out of me then.

st.hp absorbs and hits everything in front of hugo, you can punish sweeps with it

Problem is I feel like c.hk have range issues despite what animation suggests

it has :frowning: as I mentioned earlier, point blank, poison was able to avoid the entire move by simply backdashing… got punished hard for that :smiley:

hugos cr. heavy buttons wont see much usage i guess…

Oh i think i forgot something, if it is a thing. Dont know tbh.
I once counterhitted with an airborne opponent with cr. hp and it knocked the opponent unusally far away. i dont know if this is intended, but Hugo corner carry overall seems strong.

They should allow Hugo to automatically win the round if you manage to hit the opponent with f+hp, c.hp, s.hk and c.hk all in one round

Doesn’t look unwinnable at all. It’s just like I said earlier, Juri’s only hope is to keep you out with her footstank. You have to get in her face and stay there. Once you’re up close, she isn’t gonna do anything except try to get away from you, which will make her very predictable. Hugo has a response for all of her escape options.

So is cr.hp like completely useless or what?

Supposedly used as a anti air but I don’t think anyone did extensive tests to see if it’s any good… Since Hugo already have plenty of better anti air options

Unless the hurt box is extremely close to the ground and there’s quite a lot of active frames chances are it’s gonna suck

C.hp will be my “you got outplayed” normal like Ryu s.lk or Mak’s nj.lp

Not at all. You can use it to perform a belly flop on your opponent when you win the match.

Sometimes you don’t actually want to risk the grey health…

you see if this was still vanilla SF4 where we can actually hit the opponent’s corpse i’ll do that with s.HK/c.HK every round lol.

looks like Hugo in the construction stage is replaced by a random worker. Match is at ~3:37

KSK matches are too good. I swear, it’s as if he wants people to believe that Hugo is ass so that no one picks the character besides himself and a few loyalists lol.

hugo is way too fun to not play him xD
But the KSK match above is arcade, it isnt updated yet, so that is actually the “weak” version of the character

Either that or he’s just not very good at sf4 yet.

The wait for ultra is killing me. I need some more hugo gameplay to hold me over.
