Dude, we’ve been over this before in that other thread. Giving a Grappler the option of a GDLK standing Grab and GDLK AA Grab available at the same time (even if the damage is 300 at best) is scary. Now he has a legit 50/50 game going and can easily bully and scare you into fucking up.

You sure that was me? I have no memory of it. Personally I’d rather just pick solo U2 and use LP SPD instead of U1.

Not you, but other guys have debated it before. There is a possibility that the other player may have a life lead and just not give a fuck and jump without fear as soon as the Grappler gets Ultra to get it out of the way faster. Still might not be worth it in the end when they have to contend with pressure from a hard knock down.

A lot of Hugo’s potential rests with how good BACK BREAKUH winds up being. We’ll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Hakan´s AA Ultra isn´t a grab btw, you can even combo into it. I am curious, if Hugo can combo into his U2.

Still leaves Gief, Hawk and now Hugo who have AA Grab Ultras…

All of these new characters are obviously unfinished. It’s fairly pointless to be speculating about their final effectiveness based on their current state.

That being said, I have no doubt that Hugo will be scary in the right hands. He won’t be playable by everyone. It will take a certain kind of player to make him effective.

I wonder if he can do his clap combos from 3rd strike, now that they removed his sfxt combos.

Something like hp clap, lk clap c.lk xx ex lariat should work. If he does not have a high damage punish combo, i think people are gonna punish reversals with running grab for corner carry.

Clap combos are necessary.

He recovers from his super while the opponent is still airborn. Wonder if you can do super into back breaker or even ultra 2 :o

I sincerely doubt they’d give him THAT much damage lol. I imagine the main appeal will be the corner push.

I’d lol so hard if you could do super into U2. That would be my goal in every match.

Hugo will definitely use double ultras, thats double to opportunity for good damage and a hard knockdown, Which as far as we can tell, going to make or break hugo, plus, I would be demoralised to get hit by U2, that range is fucking insane and for all intents and purposes, that thing will hurt regardless on double ultras.

U2 with full bar and double ultra reportedly only does 25% damage. If back breaker does 200 ish thats not worth it imo. Gonna be rocking U2 only for sure. Hugo has scary enough options if they keep grounded anyway. Gonna test him exclusively next weekend!

So… right now the only confirmed combo (special cancel combo anyway) is cr.lk into EX Lariat? Anyone else think it’s kinda weird that cr.mp does not special cancel into anything?

No, that’s just something they added in SFxT so that he could have normal combos in that, very combo-oriented, game. Usually his combos go from slow moves to faster moves, not the other way around like most characters.

Btw, is his EX lariat his SFxT one or 3S one?

There’s currently no footage of EX Lariat or any ‘good’ gameplay of him… All the test cab cam recordings on youtube show pretty much nothing as far as combos or special moves, but they are still appreciated :wink:

You start the combo with clap, not extend it.
