Just turned in for the first time this year… Skyrim run. Literally just turned it on… Guy can’t beat dragon 30 minutes in, has to enable God Mode, to continue.

The Contra NES coop run just now was pretty good. I think that’s it for me this year. This event went down the gutter. I hope somebody else organizes an alternative.
Waveland and the Environmental Station Alpha-thing (or whatever it was called) looked like good games, I might buy those.
So someone made a “poverty” twitch chat, in response to subscriber only mode being set up in official GDQ twitch chat. ($5 to subscribe to a twitch streamer)
That transgender woman was running on GDQ and it was immediately spammed by hate speech bigots. Twitch promptly shut that down after it got reported enough times.
Also, there was a stream reset on the official GDQ stream and so for a moment, the twitch chat was wide open. For that minute, it was filled with hate speech bigots.
These lowest denominator assholes really fuck things up.
Then over on reddit/r/speedrun, there’s a bunch of snowflakes complaining about “no fun” and “muh free speech”. Anything they can do to try to bring down the event.
It’s not about being right, it’s about being loud and obnoxious, to piss people off (trolling).
The majority of people in the US and Canada are white.
They’re speed runners.
They spend an inordinate amount of time inside.
Many of the other people have a similar paleness reflective of their lifestyle.
I worry about their vitamin D intake. Hopefully they buy the calcium+Vitamin D supplements.

Things I hate about GDQ that make me not want to watch, or change from some runs
- Overuse of puns
- Sing-alongs
- Parrotting of in game dialogue
- Overuse of the words “strats” and “shoutouts”
- The SO ORIGINAL AND CREATIVE “Hay gaiz dis part iz soooooo hard” when it’s really not troll
