AGDQ 2018 is LIVE: $960,850 Raised

The Descent run made me laugh cause J Wong came in there and asked "does this game look normal if you’re drunk?"
Shit made me laugh. But yeah, BattleBlock Theater has been a very entertaining run.

Do people put up videos on youtube of the stream? I just found out Stamper was commentating the BattleBlock Theater speedrun. Stamper is one of my favorite people on the internet even before he did the VA for that game. Dude is fucking hilarious.

For the most part, the videos from AGDQ and SGDQ end up on youtube, be it from their official channel or a person who recorded that part of the stream.
Kinda cool that someone who helped with the game is commentating on it. I like it when people show some attention to the community.

They Bleed Pixels is on now. Might get up for the Castlevania race at noon.

Watching “Perspective”, WOW.

Amazed am I!

I was just coming here to say this. I would pay actual money for a game this innovative. They should sell it like Superhot.

Damn I wanted TMR to win that Contra race, but mistakes happen. He had a good lead too.

Within A Deep Forest run was awesome, still one of my favorite indies. Sad the second one didn’t get finished.

Big Jon knocking it out of the park with this run, very entertaining. Maybe we’ll get some golf hype in the future lol.

Fuck did I miss witwix? Or is that tomorrow?

I haven’t been paying attention because my internet is painfully slow.

Yep you missed witwix, was about 4 hours ago.

Watching it now

I’m still salty there is no Dustforce, DMC/Bayo, or MGS this year.

Big Jon’s Lost Levels run was the best I’ve seen so far. Dude performed well AND was entertaining to listen to.

Are Fire Emblem speed runs basically low turn count runs? I love the series but I’m not quite sure I understand the appeal of watching runs like that.

Metal Gear Rising is on the 10th at 8:15 am if that’s any compensation (what’s more, it’s the Jetstream Sam DLC on Revengeance difficulty). Bayo and MGS would’ve been hype ass runs though.

Really, this could be applied to any turn based RPG. There’s nothing inherently speedy about them, so I always tune out when they start playing some shit like FF7 or something. If it’s an action RPG, I’ll watch, but fuck speedrunning a turn based game.

Was gonna stay up for the Silent Hill run (since I’ve never played it before (stone me later)), but I care more about the Rogue Legacy and Risk of Rain runs. Off to bed…

Battle Block Theatre is so hype. Super awesome than Dan and Stamper are there to watch with PJ and Richter play and BS with them.

The appeal is cutting a 40+hr game to a 3hr game.

I wish they did more side scrollers… like Hard Corps: Uprising.

The dude on the I wanna be the Boshy run is hilarious. Kinda like a speed running Chris Pratt:

Kinda excited for tonight’s Megaman block and the subsequent Awful Games Done Quick block. I really need to see the guy who puts that much time into Sneak King (the old Burger King stealth game) that he can beat it in 30 minutes. I missed the roguelike runs this morning, which I’m pissed about because I wanted to see how you speedrun Rogue Legacy (I understand Risk of Rain, it’s all about finding the teleporter in time), so hopefully they end up on Youtube.

Yeah witwix is a fun runner to watch. Fucked up my night last night because I stayed up to watch the VOD.

Rogue Legacy was cool, from the bits that I watched this morning. Find the boss rooms and break as much shit as possible to get gold then lock down the castle layout.

Found the one I was looking for. I’m only 50 minutes in though. As hilarious I was expecting it to be.

"What is this shit Dan? Explain yourself. Why did you draw that?"
