some tekken heads will plan to roll by friday night, to pull an all nighter, in prep for West Coast Warzone 2, in long Beach CA which is in a few weeks. ft10/20 deathmatch style, with the camera to record, replay and learn from those mistakes.
DeLucifer I’ll also be coming out… but with my not so secret new char.
Cole, Best of the NW is kinda pointless for SF4 so I personally feel that we should hold of for 6-7 weeks until super…That is the game you’re going to even see the hunger for 30+peeps to even fight for spots…right now I only really ever see roughly 15 maybe who go to the dojo on any real level…which is understandable considering super is soooo close.
A week or so after the game is out I see as a good time for this…right now I see the dojo (for me) as a place to clean up some execution and try working on reading the mind of my opponent.
Again just my idea but really I don’t see the point of NW SF4 rankings at this point…
end of spring/summer dojo is going to be awesome! I still can’t wait for Super4+grillin gets underway…
Good suggestion Bokkin. I would agree to that but the reasoning for this ranking is much different.
This ranking is for the Dojo house only, it is also to help test peoples ability to play at their best at the drop of a hat. Its also to teach clutching and the drive to constantly get better. Once this tourney is over and the top players are up, the only way to go up or down in the rankings is to challenge someone.
Also, it wont matter if only 15 people come…that will be the top 15. As new people come to dojo, in order to get on the ranking, u start at the bottom of the list. So technically, the ranking list can get up to as much as like 50 players.
This Ranking will roll over to SSF4 and will start to fluctuate drastically with the new chars and new people approving. I greatly look forward to this style of competition and practice. So i hope people welcome the practice element this ranking system will offer.
J-Cole
PS- AfroDojo Doors open at 6pm today (ill be leaving to my last class at 8 and will return in the evening, but people can still play)
^alright then…all I ask is the tournament to decide initial rankings be after the April 1st…or whatever but I won’t be able to attend anything until then…
Also don’t think of the dojo rankings as dojo only when they start for ssf4…yeah we have twars as a whole but ranks for that won’t be over for a while…the dojo ranks are going to be where its at because of the required consitancy to be on top and the idea that your spot isn’t always safe…I’ll think of it as the #1 & #2 headband…people are always going to be eyeing those people and those ranks will be something on peoples minds…
We should get #1 & #2 headbands made hahahaha
Seriously though I’m soooo hype for super…
Pfft shut up carlos. you’ll go often enough and beast on those 2 places higher frequently enough for it to not matter when you start on the bottom.
…and you know this. ^^
^^size medium headband, thanks in advance.
…as Jason acts like he’s going to show up when challenged…
first off yes I know lol… but 4/7 takes alot of time…and I’d rather take that time to work on guile…
Also future…you seem to forget that console characters are playable at the dojo…but its not like they’ll be necessary though…
I think that’s awesome ranking system Cole.
I have been thinking about the idea of winning by 2 lately. I don’t think it would really work for tournaments, but for ranking matches it could be interesting.
Basically, if two people are playing in a 3 out of 5 set, instead of the first person getting to 3 matches winning, they have to get to three matches and be ahead by two, meaning they have to win 2 games back to back. If two people are playing and trading games back and forth, just being the first person to 3 doesn’t gaurantee victory. You have to beat your opponent twice in a row. So someone with a 3/1 match would be the winner, but a 3/2 match needs one more victory.
If you are way better than your opponent, beating them and being two ahead should be easy. If your equal skill, taking those two matches makes the win decisive. 4/7 matches wouldn’t really be neccesary for higher rankings.
Just an idea.
Like tennis? yea thats pretty cool.
^cammy’s dead weight and akuma’s a feather. option-select FREE
Can’t wait for the Future and Bokkin to be 2 (or 1) space apart in the rankings…
Cole what’s the rule going to be if you make a challenge and lose? Can you run it back right then and there or is there going to be a “cooldown” on challenging that person again.
Cammy says “just wait future”… and when it comes to opselects…akuma’s gonna opselect the shit outta ur rog next time.
and lolz at Bokking Frank (I should have quoted you shit was hilarious at least to me)
Bokking: verb (present participle form)
definitions: (1)To be doing something Bokkin would do (2) Talking shit because you can (3) Beating the future in your next run in (4) Hardbody apprentice (5) hating on chris masters because you can and the fact that he deserves every bit of it.
Example:
Person 1: Why you Bokking so hard man?
Person 2: Because MysticCu-Bitch-Stick knows he’s free
How about you aren’t allowed to play the same person twice in a row? So that way if you challenge someone and lose, then you have to challenge someone else or defend your spot from someone ranked under you before you can re-challenge the person you lost to. Just an idea.
Eh, maybe say you can only challenge a particular person once every 2 weeks or something. Two weeks from when you play, not two weeks from whenever you challenge them.
aye.
yo whos going tonight? ill be there around 6.
Zafo and I are heading out at 7.
You should text me before you head out. I’m going home right now to work out and do some laundry.
